Small correction to intro - Helm of the Host tokens aren't legendary so they don't legend rule themselves (per Eomer usage). Love the content as always!

I'm unsure if it comes up later in the video, but helm if the host doesn't trigger legend rules, it specially makes a non legendary copy of a token

Even if it did work that way, it wouldn't work on Eomer. Helm of the Host triggers at the start of combat, not after declaring attackers, and Eomer specifies attacking legendary creatures.

@@hiddenleaf414 Except the Helm token is not legendary. It can't trigger Eomer (or its own) ability. The equipment Eomer needs to go infinite is Blade of Selves and 2 or more opponents.

I feel like some hexproof options (like mirror shield) would help with that Voltron weakness of your big smashy creature getting Murdered or Plowshare'd. Still, equipment is unoptimal but fun to watch regardless!

I've only ever seen Alela built as a classic Esper Control deck in Historic Brawl. I've tried an artifact and enchantment value build, it was super awkard and clunky but it was fun.

SO with some tweaking I actually built along this decks lines and it has ten out of ten wins thus far. I didn't put in the infinite combat phases though just the one legendary that lets you take one extra combat phase but I didnt even need it. I added wurm coil engine platinum angel and some other cards that differ from what you have here like a scrap welder. So on its a really good commander deck.

No 5 mana Danitha? - allows you to equip something for free from hand or graveyard on entering the battlefield. Gets stupid with the helm of the host. Maybe too expensive?

Eomer doesn't get killed due to the legend rule. Helm of the host makes non-legendary copies, but it does go infinite easier than he described for that reason. The new eomer will know that a legend died this turn, so that's an additional combat

Embercleave seems sorta redundant in Kellan. He already has Double Strike so just getting +1/+1 and Trample for 6mana with sometimes a cost reduction just isn’t practical.

I love the Eater of Virtue, but honestly it's kind of a scam. It depends too much on other creatures having keywords and it doesn't work with your commander unless you're ok with declining to send to command zone and never casting it again. Also it doesn't work with enchantments or artifacts or lands that turn into a creature.

@@laurelkeeper Assuming you're being serious (I don't think you are), there is a world of difference between bypassing equip costs and permanently changing the text of the equipment itself for the duration of the game, regardless of what other game pieces are interacting with it.

That Eriette deck was so bad. Why have all those creatures? You need mostly auras to turn off people's attacks and gain life. Sheoldred is kinda pointless too since your commander basically does the life and drain anyway. only 3 auras, so painful to watch that one.

commander should have almost zero removal. That is the entire point of commander. I play my fun cards and you play your fun cards. None of this counter and destroy everything. It's so fun to have every creature I play destroyed over and over. I just don't understand why my opponents think its ok to "you can't commander today" nearly every time.

@@willh1655 Well, for one, the format isn't Commander. HBrawl is a 1v1 format that has a commander in the game mechanics but otherwise plays more like Canlander.

@@tyarriusamy5787 because I only like standard videos. I'm not a huge MTG player to know all the old cards and it's annoying to keep pausing to read all the cards that I don't know, or hear him prepare against a possible enemy card that I have no idea what it does.
