Happy Friday, friends!
We had a snowy surprise this past week here in Portland and instead of getting upset and frustrated, I decided to embrace the present moment and let my inner child run wild as I spent hours outside playing in the snow and finding all the magic and wonder that was waiting out there for me to explore! So, this week's video is a feast for the senses! Along with the magical, snowy images that I was able to capture on my camera, I read a few of Mary Oliver's poems to accompany it as well as inspiring music to weave it all together. I hope it will be a few moments of peace, comfort & inspiration for you today! ❄️ ✨

just as the deer who adore you, the plump birds, so pleased among the branches full of snow and berries, acknowledged you in their own skittering way. and the bright joy that lit up your face and heart…a memory to cherish. watching your videos today, has helped me form the words that describe these last many and long months. I have forsaken joy and adventure for fear and safety. there’s no reason why. I guess they stopped by one day and I embraced them and fed them well. so they stayed. Thank You for the gentle push to head outdoors for new adventures. (oh-the wind is ferocious today-maybe tomorrow!) 😂 just kidding.

My mother used to say when the days of winter start feeling long to start watching for the robins to return. That they always arrive ahead of the last push of winter and they herald that spring is here.

This was so pretty! Minnesota also got dumped on by a lot of snow this week but my husky didn't seem to mind so we've made the most of our (now winter again) walks. It's also my excuse to read a good book and drink warm tea :)

How enchanting. It has definitely felt like Spring here in Wales, with the wildflowers and bulbs blooming, birds building their nests and frogspawn in our pond.We are now due snow next week and am so worried about the wildlife. The Robins here look quite different to American ones

You got hit pretty hard by this snow storm. Here in Northern California our coastal community got about 3 inches. Our robins have stripped the Cotoneaster bushes bare of berries. Some of those inebriated ones found our picture windows surprisingly hard to get through. I was happy with the snow, it was like New England had found me again.

Red breasted robins are the first sign that spring is near! Red cardinals mean a departed loved one is near, sending their blessings and love. Monarch butterflies are "kisses" from angels.

Wondering if you're getting more robins than usual this year. Here in San Diego, we have an influx of thousands, when we'd had practically none for 30 years. They may be a sign of climate change, as it's been a cold winter, with days in the 40s and 50s and nights in the 30s for months on end (it really hasn't been warm since Christmas Day). I say, "Welcome" to the robins and to the cooler winter. This was a beautiful video. Your artistic spirit shines through. Much love to you and Cedar.

In answer to Robins, here in the northeast, we had a huge flock of Robins appear in our yard in early February, unheard of, the magic sign of spring for March 20 or so was to see the first Robins!! A milder winter temperatures here as well.

Hehe I felt the same way when the snow hit here this week, where I dreaded it but then embraced it because it was the first that stuck. What is the name of the bird that is in your video? I've never seen one (I'm on the opposite side of the country). They look like fluffy smaller Robins with brighter breasts than we have here. Beautiful video. I enjoyed the poetry a lot.
