60 hats on the Ricoma TC1501 was as easy as could be! I ran the hats around 600 spm and used a 65/9 needle with 60 wt thread.
I hope you guys enjoy this work with me :)

It's always nice to watch people do things on the tc1501 (which I own), no one shows the setup of the computer part for the side /back stitching view.

Hi Kayla. Love your channel and also the fact that your husband is a pastor. My husband and I were volunteers for our churches youth programs. Plus we did the clean up of the kitchen and classrooms when they were done with night activities. This was also a Christian elementary school so some days there was LOTS of clean up. 😊 But we loved it!!! Anyhoo I have been in the business for about 25 years and this year i have sold 5 of my multi needles to make room for new ones. I have a EM1010 on orderas a try out for the brand. Ricoma has added me to the users group which I participate in, but it seems like everyone just complains or tries to drum up digitizing business, and some are just plain rude! 😢 I just wanted to say I appreciate your positive outlook and I hope I can find some users that share the same values. Thank you for being a positive influence. My backgound is I embroidered medical scrubs and accessories. I ran Tajimas...2 12 head machines every day for 8 or 9 hours... Yep that is 24 items to hoop 2 or three times an hour. My hands would get so sore from hooping hundreds every day. But I am grateful for the experience that let me open my own shop! God is goodl. ❤ Y

Aw thank you so much! I love that my husband is a Pastor too 😀I agree, God is good! My hands definitely hurt after all these hats too! Thank you for sharing some of your story with me. I'm sorry you're not enjoying the Facebook group, it's unfortunate that some people just complain and complain. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to help the best I can!

New Sub, Great work. When I use Fast frames I re use most of the sticky backing from hat to hat. Meaning I cut replacement small pieces, like 1” x 4” and place them over the torn out section. Saves material and doesn’t seem to bother the embroidery. I also create a template to mark the start location on the hat, and mark a little dot with sewing chalk. Hope this helps to speed up production.

I used a 65/9 on all the hats and 60 wt thread. I probably could've used a 75/11 on The Boat House and FDF but I just kept it all the same. No needle breaks!

Pamela, of ‘Sterlings Style’ has just started sponsoring the 20 needle Ricoma. Maybe you can help her, she had a little trouble with the fonts not stitching right. BTY, do you use 60wt or 40wt thread when embroidering smaller fonts?
@KaylaKrische

I will reach out to her! I use 40 wt for small letters with a 65/9 needle :)

Did you get these designs specially digitised for the hats or did you make the designs yourself? I am thinking of getting a hat hoop but reading how you have to have specific hat designs!
@KaylaKrische
@KaylaKrische Ай бұрын
Hi Pauline! Yes I did get them digitized for a hat. For hat designs they are digitized taking the curve into account and are designed to stitch from the middle out and the bottom up. Flats are digitized much different. You just have to make sure you tell your digitizer all the information possible to get a quality stitch out :)

Thanks for the awesome video! I’m having difficulty embroidering the center of flexfit hats. Is that just not possible with the middle seam? Ive done it on richardson hats but now im stuck on flexfit?

@@KaylaKrische i was using a 90/14 because thats what i was using on richardsons without needle breaks. Is that too big for flex fit? That middle seam just seems so tough. And do you use backing?
@KaylaKrische
@KaylaKrische Жыл бұрын
@@blaketomasino1727 yeah I use backing. I always use 65/9s and almost never have problems. I've heard people steam the front of hats or use a heat gun quickly to soften it too.

I'm not sure of the exact dimensions off the top of my head but probably around 2.5"-3" in height. It does have the 270 degree cap rotation so that you can embroider both sides in one run, so that's a fun feature! I've yet to use it though.
