@ENSORVLOGS we're you dealing w/ anxiety every day? I did DBT and CBT and Hypnotherapy. The DBT helped a bit, CBT no and Hypno hell no but I start EMDR Monday and am really hopeful. I'll keep you updated!! Thanks for answering back to me.

You are amazing for updating your progress. I did 6 months of this for CPTSD. Everyone on here thinking of EMDR. IT’S SO WORTH IT! I’ve watched your updates and you used the same words I did: brutal, hard work but an amazing process. You are a warrior woman. Anyone who does is. Definitely allow your brain to do it and don’t force anything. It’ll still work. You don’t need to do anything. The start of new incidents always feel awful it’s peaks and troughs as you enter them. Don’t forget it gets better. My brain would always feel healthier leaving. I’m so glad you are feeling that too! Keep going!!!!! You are amazing and are seriously wonderful for sharing how the desensitisation works and yourself as you do. HUGE RESPECT and much love ❤️❤️❤️ Anyone considering seriously do it: You deserve to have your trauma embedded away.

I definitely want people to understand to never underestimate trauma. It can happen from even the smallest and silliest things and ruin your whole life when you didnt process it correctly. It doesnt matter male or female, or how much of a tough guy you are. When your mind is off it affects everything. Like for me, Im a truck driver with experience and have always been a pretty confident driver. One day i choked on my saliva when trying to swallow while driving and typically i would move on and not think much of it as most would, but this time I for some reason processed it as practically a life/death situation. For the last 7 months I went from being a professional driver to a scared little baby constantly in a fearful, on edge, overly defensive state od mind and trying to avoid or ignore it only makes it worse. Never thought some so random and small could throw a wrench in my whole life....but it did! (Of course that amplified all the other emotions going on in my life). I never was one yo seek theraoy, but rock bottom emotionally did it for me! Trying out emdr myself. Definitely a bit scary but i really hope it works because time has sped up extremely fast and i want nothing more than to get back to normal (or better!). Again....dont underestimate trauma and know that you're not alone out there. Though i feel alone lol. Taking care of mental health is extremely important. Youd be surprised how things even from childhood that you dont remember could be influcencing your state of mind and having an incident that triggers the trauma response can catch you off guard and throw things way off!

Bree, thank you for sharing your therapeutic journey. It takes courage to face our traumatic experiences and memories and take that step toward healing (let alone share your story with the KZfaq-verse!!). By no means is it easy, but we must go through the pain to heal from it. But it's so worth it! Having benefitted from EMDR myself about 10 years ago, I was looking for videos to share with a friend who has a family member suffering from PTSD. I'm a huge proponent of therapy, but after years of traditional "talk therapy", EMDR was a game-changer for me. This is the first of your videos that I've watched and I look forward to watching more of your story. Hugs from Scottsdale ❤

I really relate to your feelings from childhood experience and hope this helps the anxiety and triggers that have kept me from having the relationships and success I want to have. Stay well and hi five to you for making this investment in yourself and remember that your energy has more value than money, spend it on people who want you to thrive, because the takers that don't give back want to see you fall.

emdr has been difficult recently. started it 4 months ago. it is hard because now when im around my family im hyper aware of the trauma they caused instead of repressing/distracting it which makes me have strong fear responses around them. because of this right now im not speaking with my parents because it is too painful for me
@MummyBrown
@MummyBrown 4 ай бұрын
I had this same response. It was this that had me disconnect from my Mother for about 4 years till I worked through my difficulties enough to have greater control over myself. I was able to reconnect with my mother once I’d gotten through the difficult parts of my therapy and had a better understanding of myself, and how to help myself I needed it. That may or may not be what is best in your case. For me, I understood that my Mother lacks the emotional intelligence and the safety to go on a self-help journey for herself. I knew I had to meet her where she was, in a sense, in order to keep her in my life. I think she’s worth it as long as I limit my expectations of/ for her. I don’t give her a pass on what I was dealt in my life no thanks to her, but I also don’t hold it against her. You are allowed to hold yourself in the highest esteem in your healing journey. You are more than worth it, and the work you are putting into that will definitely pay off. If you need to step away to do that, don’t hesitate. Give yourself that grace.

Before you started EMDR did you have a negative attitude about yourself and or life in general. I have past trauma as well and future fears and was suppose to start EMDR in 2 days but she said that I had to be stable first because I am going through depression and generalized anxiety disorder from childhood trauma. I was hoping that it would work for me but not sure if she is going to do it. I have watched some of your videos and just curious if you were depressed as well as anxiety. Don't want to pry. I am 53 and hoping for the best. When you say it's hard, is it hard reliving the trauma memories or just draining hard. Also, how often did you go? Once a week or more? Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
