I went to the FL Gulf Coast last week. The water felt like very warm bath water. Fuel for Hurricanes to reach Cat 5. I read with all the current conditions, a Tropical Storm can develop into a Cat 5 hurricane in 24 hours.

I was in a Hurricane while living in Corpus Christi way back when I was 4yrs old! This was about 1966...we all survived by seeking shelter, but our house trailer was flipped onto its roof with our dog still in it. He made it though unhurt! I was also in Hurricane Iwa while living in Hawaii in 1982. My parents had just arrived for a 2 week vacation the day before. We lived in the middle of the island in Wahiawa, so we got very little damage. We were out of electricity and water for 3 days though. It all came back on on Thanksgiving Day! The island sustained a lot of damage along the coastline.

RTP Açores TV informed about 6 months ago that two P8's were staying permanently in Lajes air base in Terceira Island, it's very strategic and USAF is returning there after some years. Things are not looking good. Also saw many foreign Navy vessels from Nato in São Miguel island while i was there. I realy hope things not to escalate even more or world will be in big crisis. Thanks for the update I have been seeing on y.t channel MILITARY INFORMATION that troops from U.K, Germany, Australia as well as the U.S have been landing in the philippines as well as hundreds of vehicles & other equipment. Perhaps things are getting more intense more than what the media have not been telling us all. Stay safe.

Hi Greg, I live near Corpus Christi and will be watching storm situation closely . we had 5 inches of rain with Alberto and now have to watch the path of Beryl. thanks for great info and reporting. Thanks for giving info not on the main stream media. and yes like everything else , under president marsh mellow the national weather service is some what less that it use to be. we will be preying for our troops as well. 73
