If Jess was in a United States hospital, they would’ve either put her in a mental health zone or they would’ve discharged her from the hospital. She would not have gotten this level of care.

Dr Mya, thank you for your empathy and transparency with dear Jess. My mother, father, sister, nephews and daughter are all medical specialists. I too am in science yet however briefed intellectually, we are fundamentally all people who are vulnerable in a crisis and want our loved one, often Mum. I lost my mother a few months ago and I am 64....the pain of loss is raw and real, no matter ones stage of life, I miss her so much. She was the glue and the strength.... And I adore Kevin, his strength and his humour xxx

Love this show. I’m in Northeast Oklahoma, USA. I know from experience that care received here in US depends on what state & more importantly what hospital you go to. Local hospital here is absolutely awesome. When they transferred me by helicopter to Tulsa, the paramedics held my hand & gave me great care & comfort. Tulsa met helicopter & were great in care & kindness.

As someone who has been in the er for period pain many times (PCOS and Endometriosis) I wish I had a doctor so caring ass Dr Mya. I am always just denied pain meds, told nothing is wrong and nothing can be done, and then told to go home with a packet of patient info that says to return if I have a list of symptoms that I just went in for haha

What ive realized and have come to respect and appreciate by watching this series is everyone is human, the patients, the staff and all their loved ones..I love that the nurses & doctors show their emotions towards their patients..They are so caring and devoted to saving every ones life❤..If myself or my family ever needed medical care or emergency care i know we'd be in good safe hands with the people in this hospital, thats if we ever go on vacation to Australia ❤. .We live in The U.S. in Vermont

❤ I absolutely love watching this show. It shows the difference between the states and in Australia and the UK, the ways that things are approached, how things are prepared for incoming emergencies and how things are done. I was an ER nurse for only 4 years and I sincerely applaud each & every nurse, doctor and medical assistant that are doing this work on this show. Amazing!! What is the song that is played at the beginning of each episode, would really love to know. Sincerely, my best to all of you.

I think that Jess may have severe endometriosis and the pain could have been from a ruptured cyst. I appreciate Dr. Mya always - I don't think it was just period cramps and sadness. I hope if Jess is watching this and reading the comments she will get in to her GP and be firm about these tests if she didn't get them yet. Even if this is a few years ago. I waited too long and wound up unable to carry a pregnancy. I'm a happy adoptive mom, very blessed, but that pain is best avoided. Go with my maternal instincts, as though I was your mom. Get it ruled out!

Jessica, you are so brave. I am a father of two adult children who are the world to me! Likewise they think I am ok. I can not imagine your loss. What I would like to say is to embrace your situation and be sure to acknowledge your feelings as being valid and your memories the fuel to keep you going. All the best from this Canadian on the West Coast.

I live in the U.S. and I wish the doctors and EMTs cared as much and comforted people as needed. I have went by ambulance to the ER and the EMT was so cold. Sometimes I have heard and read that doctors are trained to show little or no emotion. I love watching these real life stories, where doctors and patients share caring and loving moments❤❤

I understand they believe Jessica's chest pain is a symptom of stress, but don't dismiss chest pains in teenagers as my daughter suffered a Cardiac Arrest at 18. She was subsequently diagnosed with Brughada Syndrome and has been fitted with a defibrillator. I myself had Endometriosis and the period pains were worse than labor for me. Love this show!❤

For the mum who just got news about her daughter's accident, or anyone who receives devastating news from the hospital, don't drive. Call an Über, Lyft, a taxi , or a friend or relative. That way you will not suffer from your distraction from the dire news. Let someone else do the driving.

Pelvic pain in women is very often dismissed by emergency rooms as non-urgent. I think the docs sometimes forget, if we could manage it at home with OTC meds and a heat pack, we would not be coming to the ED. I would never go to ED unless I was dying here.

I'm glad they referred Jess on to be checked for endometriosis. The chest pains might've been from grief but it's not normal to have years of crippling period pain. The ED can't do anything for her, then and there, for it but a referral from them can carry some weight - it did for me with a heart concern other GPs might've dismissed
