While going at about 220 km/h a Dutch camper swerved into the left lane and forced me to execute an emergency brake. People need to use their mirrors as I could have been easily seen.

This is false. A BMW driver never uses brakes except for drifting or double parking. A real BMW driver will manuever between the gaps.

Brakes aren't standard equipment on german BMWs, but you can get them via a monthly subscription. In the US brakes are required by law, so the subscription is for the blinkers instead.

You've got to remember that it may look easy, but recording horizontal field of view is pretty short, so what we are looking at feels less impressive that it might have looked like in person. Nonetheless its really amazing that it has slowed down that fast

So Überholvorgänge passieren ständig und das Gehupe hilft dann auch nicht wirklich. Chill' mal deine Base. Mit so ner kurzen Zündschnur sollte man nicht auf die Bahn. Tief Luft holen und vielleicht in Zukunft einen Tacken defensiver.

@@DTB4ctive Not really. 110 km/h is 68.3 mph. People go that fast on normal roads. Much less a freeway or highway where speeds are hitting 95-100+ mph or 160km/h. And that's assuming medium length ride. If you wanna go cross country or across a large state you may hit 120+mph or 193+km/h

Ahh yes, the dutchies with caravans. Overtaking on the Autobahn usually isn't a problem. However, that only goes for 3 lanes. In a 2 lane like this its not really wise to cruise at 250 kmph I find.

The recommended safe speed is 130 km/h, but driving faster is allowed and you won’t be blamed if it’s not your fault. This POS camper made a really dangerous lane change, while going slower than the flow of traffic. Not only this but he knew he has a heavy vehicle with had visibility, and if he makes a mistake he can’t correct it due to his slow acceleration and maneuverability. All in all the camper is in the wrong and he comes from the same country where I come from, and here in The Netherlands we all hate people who drive and live in campers (we call them campers). They behave like the actors in the series/movies called New Kids.

I dont know why people dont understand the rules, only a few easy understanding rules.... Fun fact and i think only in germany, the speed rule 130 is writen: the recommended speed. !!! @@alexandermenck6609 super argumentation, ab wieviel wird schlecht / falsch gut, ab 100k 500k 1mio etc? Haben wir gesetze oder richter die alles frei entscheiden wie quasi im mittelalter teils üblich war? Heute muss auch ein richter sich nach u an die gesetze halten und hat absolut nichts(!) hineinzuinterpretieren. Ausserdem das es immer der fall ist ist falsch. Zum glück für die betroffenen ist es eher anderstherum der fall. Nur es schwindet u das ohne das sich an den gesetzen was änderte, was schon für sich spricht, das was nicht stimmt. In jenen urteilsbegründungen u urteilen werden interessanterweise auch keine stvo genannt, meistens nicht mal fühererschein auf urlaub noch busgeld. Die strafe geht dann aufs teilzahlen des unfallschadens. Nichtvschuld aber..,. Nö nix aber, das ist gegen das grundelement der rechtsprechung, nix gemacht dann auch keine strafe!!! Ach ergänze, warum ist es unter 130 immer unvermeidbar u ab 130 soll man mitschuld sein? Was ist der unterschied zum schuld haben bei 2 fahrzeugen einer 160 der andere 180 zu 80 u 60 im vergleich?!? Stvo, gesetz bitte, nicht ein richter zitieren sem man darauf die vertrauensfrage stellen müsste sowie noch geeignet für sein beruf ist. Und wie gesagt, meistens ist es ja nicht so, darum anwälte zitieren könnten wir uns ebenfalls ein zitat nach dem anderen vorlegen... Grundlage stvo, gesetz, woran sich alle halten müssen!

You want to know why this happens? People usually do look into their mirrors- but only once. Let me explain: Speed is a function of distance over time. If you only take a look into your side view mirror once, right before you change lanes, you will see a car plenty of distance behind you, but as soon as you changed lanes, that car you saw is now sniffing on your tailpipe. "How did it get here so fast?" you might ask. It's simple, in that moment you looked into the mirror you only recognized the car and the distance, but not it's relative speed to you. To determine that, you'll have to look twice (or just look longer into the mirror- but I advise against that for safety reasons) Therefore, if you want to change lanes, you look into your mirror ahead of the lane change and you see a car in that lane. Then you let a few seconds pass until you want to turn your turn signal on, but before you do that you look a second time in the mirror, of course. Now you see the car closer in that lane. From the distance it travelled towards you and the time passed between the two looks in your mirror, you should be able to assess, if it is safe to change lanes now, or if the car is too fast and will have to brake because of you. I know, for most drivers this is obvious, but I regularly catch people only looking once- sonetimes even while already turning the wheel.

Yes it’s the autobahn and cruising at triple digit speeds is legal , however, approaching motor homes with other cars doing well under your desired speed, lighten your foot off the juice pedal for less then a mile would keep the families along with yourself safe. Yes, he did pull over without regard for your speed as they were all traveling at a turtle pace, but an experienced driver always is on the lookout for not only wild animals that don’t give a fuc#, but also, the distracted driver who just doesn’t know any better and is probably traveling with children, with the vision of bikes hanging on the back of the rig. any decent driving school tells you that you have to anticipate the idiocy of others. Especially when going fast, it's not even idiocy but just human limits, there's no way to keep watch on your left blindspot, both mirrors and front, so at a certain speed, especially with curved roads like here, you just can't see people in time. People will just pull out like this, just like you always check blindspots before turning because sometimes a deathwish cyclist tries to overtake you on the right (or on highway shoulders even). Accordingly, over 130kph means "erhöhte Betriebsgefahr" in german legal speak, aka you assume the risk of going this fast, and if you crash and the crash was worsened by your speed or preventable by keeping 130 then you're gonna pay up part of it no matter what. I don't think we need the 130 to be a limit, there are straight stretches where more is safely possible, but I do think we should have a legal limit on differential speed and a zero tolerance policy on it and on this kind of recklessness in general, because whilst I do love the fun of having a way to drive fast, people and their families have to use the highways and anything that makes them more dangerous than reasonably necessary should not be allowed in my eyes.

The outer lane is for overtaking. YOU should only be speeding when its a clear road and slow down or ease off as soon as you approach traffic. I just ignore horn blowers like this, and continue to overtake. Then let them pass when I'm safely past the vehicle I am overtaking vehicle! Hornblowing clowns like this cause accidents.

Speeding? This road has no speed limit, you cannot speed. While changing lane you MUST NOT endanger any vehicle driving in that lane. Even if there is a speed limit, you changing lanes like this resulting in a crash would make you at fault even if the car exceeded the speed limit. You MUST NOT endanger any vehicle driving in a lane you are switching to. With a road without a speed limit, EVERYONE is required to pay attention and behave accordingly. Not just the one driver who drives fast, but everyone driving slow as well. There is nothing like “im not going fast, I dont care”. This is not my opinion, this is the law.

@lt2678That maybe in this Georgaphic location. The rule of common sense should always be applied to excessive use of the accelerator. (SPEED KILLS!) Speeding is the term I would apply to the immediate surroundings and conditions in whch you drive. Anything over 70mph, is what I would term as fast, even in my car which is a restricted Mercedes SLK at 155mph. Even on an open road, in another Country like Germany where its legal do drive to the limit of my car (in places), I would NOT EVER go beyond 130mph. My common sense and sensibility would tell me not to. But, each to their own. I always try to think of other road users, busy-ness of the road and weather conditions, before driving faster than normal.

But you have to understand this: in Germany, as a novice driver who really sucked at the driving test, you are obliged to put a yellow license plate with NL in the blue field on your car. I hate it when others do it to me and the rare times I misjudged someone's acceleration upon me to cut them off. The fact the offended party could brake in time is baked into the cake that it was a misjudged lane shift with time to respond. However wilful intimidation just breeds spite and danger to the rest of society. People used to have more grace with a quick 1 horn blast at most. Now it's just retaliatory...yea, that makes society more cognizant and conscientious. Fine, you win. Go blast your horn at every offense on the road.

In the caravan driver's defense: it is very unnecessary to drive faster than 180 km/h. And an experienced driver would've already slowed down approaching two slow vehicles behind each other. If you need more lecturing, please follow a decent education.

okay dann my bad, hat sich beim lesen anders verstanden, aber das kann ich nachempfinden, nur weil hinter mir ein Fahrzeug fährt was schneller KANN heißt es nicht, dass man seinen Sicherhietsabstand und den des gerade von uns überholten unterschreiten muss für den Drängler hinter uns der sein EGO nur beschütten muss. Da kann der in seinem Wagen fuchteln so viel er will. Die Straße gehört schließlich uns allen und nicht nur ihm nur weil er mehr Steuerabgaben hat @@Denis-zo6qo

@@ioannisp5725 I do. You obviously don't, as it is not a racetrack. The section of the clip is only two lanes, and there is traffic. The driver should take this into account. There are also rules around sections where there is two lanes. Maybe you need to read up on it! lmao.

That's why my German car dealer recommend changing brake pads at 8.5mm and changing brake disc with just around 1mm wear. That sort of braking is just expected to happen on daily basis.

Pointless. Dealer recommended that to you, because they are ripping you off. Braking force of new and 50% used brakes is the same. If you want to be safe, make sure your: suspension, alignment and tires are top notch!

@@Cribs00 The reason is their schedule is for every 15000km or 12 months. i.e. in 15000km of daily travel, they are expecting that it would bring 8.5mm to below real safety limit, something like say less than 4mm. In my country, 8.5mm to 4mm could take years for me with normal driving.

If this is your "expected sort of daily braking" you are obviously doing something terribly wrong. My brakes had to be replaced after 8 to 9 years, although I love to drive above 200 km/h.

@@atii4245 The trailer did look in their mirror, saw it was clear to pass, and did so. The BMW slowed just fine. Nobody else on the road has an obligation to stay out of the way of speeding BMWs, and it is up to the vehicle that is overtaking to do so safely. BMW driver a-hole for honking like that, but that is pretty typical for their type. Don't tell me there is no speed limit, I know that.

You never been on the Autobahn middle of summer.... Basically holidaymakers don't give a F, they don't indicate and pull out in front of you. The assumption is that they "have the right of way".. Even if you are doing 3x their speed.

Brakes are connected with his brain. Brain sends that stupid impulse to his hands. Those stupid hands are holding the steering wheel. In the middle of that steering wheel is a horn. @@SuperchargedMagazine It is but in case you did not know this if a crash happens you're the only one at fault as you were speeding at 230km/h and not the 130 km/h that is recommended.I understand your frustation but it's not very wise to drive like this with only 2 lanes and then rage when other people try to pass.He can't guess you're doing 200 even if the zone is no limit.
