I think it's great Los Angeles County Fire Department actually offered both actors real fire fighter positions. Although both men declined the offer, it's a testiment to the real paramedic training they completed (minus written exams). As Randolph Mantooth said, 'I know what to do, but I call 911.' Best to him and Kevin Tighe: Fire Fighters the same.

Actually, it was just Randy Mantooth that was offered a position in the fire department. Not Kevin Tighe. Randy felt like he could be of more help to first responders as an actor rather than a firefighter (plus he'd have a better salary!). But I do agree with you.

@@susantherestorer Susan, It appears you're correct. I found more information past my initial comment. Blessings to Randy for his almost position. And Kevin and Randy, and the other people including Engineer Mike Stoker, for representing the Los Angeles Country Fire Department so honorablely. No to mention all the police, sheriffs, ambulance, medical staff, orderlies, nurses and doctors. Many great first responders of their day. Appreciated. Keith

It's inflamed tonsils...they can be swollen and you could have a soar throat.

You don't want it. I had my tonsils out when I was 7 years old and my 5 year old brother had his out the same time. It's worse when your adult and have to have your tonsils removed.

You sure as hell don’t want it. It ranges from inflamed and sore to infected, burning and swollen. Had it heaps of times as a kid and got it again as an adult. I distinctly remember it as an adult because it took 4 days from the onset to when I could see a doctor and the doctor told me “they were so bad, they were physically ready to turn black”. If the tonsils ever turn black as a result of tonsillitis, they have to come out before they become septic but little bleeders have a bad habit of growing back.
