What do you think about inexperienced people who dare to go to Haulover and then need to be rescued? Who pays for the services of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue?

I think a few mangled bodies here and there would add to the entertainment overall. Have no speed limit, more jet skies, swimmers, and float toys! The big boats we could gamble on by guessing how many fatalities they caused going through wide open! Fun for everyone!!!

Think about this. On any Interstate highway bicycles are prohibited, that being said kayakers, peddle boarders should be banned. Jet skies are a water craft.

What would it take to ban kayaks and jet skis from the inlets? It would have to be universal right? You either launch outside or inside.

It's always the same debate : do we need to restrain accesses because of the few inexperienced people who get in trouble ? I don't know if it's the case in US but in France, marinas usually have a billboard outside where they update weather and currents forecast for the actual and following day, with a quick calculation of tides, accidents like these can totally be avoided. Going on water is a serious business and can be dangerous for beginners, however I think it's a better idea to inform and train people instead of establishing restrictions for everyone just because of the few who don't know what they are doing.

I would love to row my raft down Haulover going with the current of course. I made it through the Grand Canyon with no problem in fairly big water.

Do 'col regs' apply in the states? I've seen all sorts of stupidity on this site and it's not often kayaks. Perhaps, licensing based on training and subsequent qualifications, would be the way to go.

Common sense would be that kayaks should not be in the haul over. Unfortunately, common sense is no longer common. Jet skis only if transiting the area, not if they are just "playing" obstructing traffic.

On the subject of jet skiers, I agree people should use common sense, however, on a related note, time and time again, jet skiers are among the first people on the scene of incidents and a lot of times, are better suited for a rescue because of the conditions or something related to that. Bottom line is, people just need to know what they're doing.

I think restrictions should be placed on any “Manpowered” vehicle. Jet skis and other Pwds that have engines are in a totally different class and should be treated as power boats. Just my opinion!

Nothing will be done till several of then are ground into hamburger by the boats with a transom full of motors. Then you will hear all sorts of " Should of done it's ".

When a kayaker gets chopped up by a prop, All motorized boats will have to yield right of way, Just look at what cyclists have done on roadways, they own every right of way and the tax paying motorists are the ones suffering by having to constantly yield towards their entitled ignorance.

Haulover inlet looks out of control no one cares get out of my way hear i come speed limit should be in place from the start of the inlet like 10 MPH its a wonder no one is run over and killed who ever is in charge of the inlet USCG should put rules in place
