Emergency Shunting on The Great Central Railway | Vandalism | Featuring 13101, 78018, D123 and 50017

Hello everyone!
In this video, I'll be showing you part of a small crisis yesterday morning at Loughborough Central. In the night, some people broke in, and damaged the door and gangway of one of the coaches. This was deemed unsafe to be on the end of a train, so the plan was to sandwich it between two other coaches. This was all done by using 13101 the 08 shunter. The, I headed over to Quorn and Woodhouse, and saw many trains go up and down, including 78018, D123, 92214 and 50017 'Royal Oak'.
To make everything even better, 92214 (the 9F) was on a chartered wedding train.

Why do so many people have so little respect for train-lovers? I mean back when I was literally in primary school (elementary if American) I was literaly TOLD to find a new interest. never the less I ruined that persons reputation at the school :D

Stuff like this just infuriates me. When money is tight anyway with heritage railways and then someone does something like this. Down at NVR (my local heritage railway ) its always happening. Someone set the signal box on fire for the fun of it recently. It just angers me so much. 😡

Vandalism = Brainless? Why? What does anyone gain from it? As I get older I find it harder to understand. I spent my formative years making things better not destroying things. May be I am on a different planet?

where is the rest of the class 13 the are supposed to be 2 permanently coupled 08's (one with cab removed)

Honestly I just think it's an 08 with a different running number. Everywhere I've looked, it says it's number before that was D3101. I hope this helps!

13xxx was the original number sequence for the 350hp shunters before the D prefix came in. Long before TOPS was ever thought of...

It was on the gangway of the first door. Long story short, no graffiti, but a mangled doorway, which was deemed unsafe and was therefore placed in between two coaches to make sure noone fell out of the back

That didn't make a lot of sense to me, why not take the damaged coach off and leave it in a siding? Surely there was another coach availalble?

Because at that time, a line block was in place to investigate a point issue at the south end of the station. All of the spare mark 1's would have required a move over the south end. They were also buried behind the other set which was booked to run the 11:00 train. Additionally, the vehicle in question was fit to run but could not be at the North end. The first train of the day left with only a few minutes' delay which can only be put down to a fantastic team effort.

@@TheGreatWesternGuy No I was the man on the ground coupling and uncoupling the coaches. I (along with my trainee) spent the rest of the day keeping everything moving :)

In the first few clips, you see an 08 shunter switching around 2 coaches. The first coach got its door and gangway quite badly damaged by the vandals, hence why they needed to switch them around.
