Made Valencia punch with the heavyweights in La Liga, got Sevilla pushing high positions and dominated the Europa, PSG was hit and miss due to Monaco season but even without Neymar would have won that league but UCL just fell short to great sides ultimately. HIS BRAND OF FOOTBALL IS FABULOUS as we've seen with his teams. Can he sort the defence out properly? May take time but I'm SUPER happy with this appointment. Apparently he doesn't manage egos well but I don't know him for that, so I want to see how he is with us. GREAT CHOICE.

I'm actually quite happy with this appointment because he comes with experience and is a winner and hes managed at big clubs and big players before and he is meticulous in his tactical approach which is what we've needed!

I don't understand why us Arsenal fans are underwhelmed about being in the Europa League. It's not like we have done well in the Champions League (let alone win it), plus our European record is shit.....even Ipswich and SP*RS have a better European record than us. Just to add he's 46yo with plenty to improve on also. We could be that club that gives him that next step of growth in the management game. Doubters can doubt but his trophies speak to us about his capabilities to deliver. For me his credentials are even higher than Enrique who's commanding high wages due to doing a treble with the inherited Barcelona all stars! The positions of Arsenal vs Juve at this time always made getting Allegri a really hard task. The new core spine is now in place of Sven, Raul, Unai and Ivan, let's make sure this strong core translates on the personnel on the pitch & wish this coach the best. COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!!!!

Great vid Hugh! Only obvious negative about Emery I see is that he’s never worked in the Prem, but from the sounds of it he has a very good knowledge of it. I don’t think there are any current managers who could have dealt with the Cavani/Neymar rift, especially when he didn’t sign either of them!

Personally I am happy with the appointment. But considering his reputation I expect us to be a top 4 club in no more than 2 seasons. This could be the guy that gets us back on top but we need to give him time and stick by him

I think emery is good for the next couple of years for arsenal, restoring top 4 and good football. I'm not expecting a league or champions league out of this guy, and i don't think the board do either. Our new system won't accommodate for another 20 year manager, when we are ready to make the next step they'll replace him with a man that can do it. Reckon he's a ship steadier.

Why does everyone say arteta could be like moyes and neville etc but never mention he could be like pep when he took over barca, or even like gattuso at ac whos doing a good job so far. Arteta grew up playing in Barca's academy, played with poch, played under wenger and is learning his trade at city. I do feel it was a little early for him and we currently dont have the stability for a risky appointment like that, but still put some respect on arteta's name

Emery is great for Arsenal. For over 10 years we have been waiting for some structure to our defence. Also we want the players to play well and if they don't, take them off the team, Emery will do this and I cant wait!

Got to say I’ve a really good feeling from what his tried to say so far (god bless him for trying the interview in English) he wants to play a possession style that harasses teams when they’ve not got the ball (so that Barca, Man City kind of play) I feel we’re set up to do that but lacked the harassing for the ball under Wenger (the amount of times I saw ozil taking a stroll when we didn’t have the ball was unreal last year). Another big bonus is he analyses teams his facing and reacts to their style another thing we lacked under Wenger no matter what team we played we were set out the same way and become predictable. I also think that (looking at how he played with savilla and Valencia) his tactically astute enough to change to a counter attacking team when we’re up against a good team who may steal the possession stats from us. So that being said I’d hope for top 4 but feel it’s a big ask in the prem at the minute in his first season. So realistically if we just missed out on top 4 but the players battled hard all season I’d be happy. Don’t think at the minute finance wise we’ve got the £££ to go out replacing our whole defence with world class signings so you’ve got to take that into consideration

What makes him a bit suspect to me is not the losses in the UCL or even that one particular loss to Barcelona, but the fact that he didn't manage to win the league with PSG on both seasons, but then again, Monaco had an amazing fresh team while PSG had just lost their reference in Ibrahimovic, not to mention Heynckes also lost 2 titles to Dortmund when they had a similar situation and nobody holds that against him now since he had the opportunity to continue his work to then win the treble.

When he was announced, I was a little indifferent because of his failure to go deep in the Champions League with all that money, but after a bit of thought I'm quite excited about him, considering how much I liked Wenger. I think he's a far better shout than Arteta because of his experience, and I'm hoping that while he is expected to take us to another level, we are the type of club who can take him to the next level as a coach. Will be nice to see a younger face and a more energetic and modern style of play, but I will miss Arsene. I also think getting him now rather than waiting for some of the other big names coaching at the World Cup is a sensible idea. Will be an interesting season for sure. I'm curious about the type of player he wants to bring in. Looking forward to more uploads soon!

Why I'm happy is because a lot of our players need a kick up the arse, and I fully believe that Emery will provide that.
