What are your thoughts on the 24v mod for the PJ pickups? I love the mod for the 81/85s

Thanks for checking out the video. Going to 24V will add headroom, but tonally...not sure...I am aware that plenty of guitarists champion the improved high end...not sure if that is something we'd hear on bass. To be honest, most players will not hear the difference between 9V and 18V on a bass preamp.

These pickups need a battery to operate so the pickups by nature are active. They can be wired with a passive electronic harness, which is included, or they can be wired with an active harness.
