I heard this song in Berlin, and I started singing it with the quincentennial sound of , “rokotongo rumba tuku tukum” everywhere. People were laughing but singing along. I don’t know why I haven’t heard more stuff from Emiliana. She has so much potential.

According to Wikipedia, after the album that features this song, she released an EP in 2013 and an album with The Colourist Orchestra in 2023, but Jungle Drum was the only song of hers that got significant success overseas. What surprises me the most is that literally none of her other songs sound like this one lol. It really makes me wonder how this song was conceived (I don't mean it in a negative way, it's just that it sticks out like a sore thumb in her discography lol).

After reading all the replies from people talking about this song as an old classic, and me assuming it was a brand new 2022 release (I first heard it yesterday when I unlocked it on Beatstar), I just had to check - it didn't chart in the UK. Like, *at all*. In fact, her highest chart position in the UK was 44. Whatever the reason, she doesn't seem to have had any impact here. I love this song, so I can't help feeling we were missing out... :)

achso, da hast du recht :D aber ich schaue mir generell manchmal so alte videos an, die ich mir damals in meiner Grundschulzeit immer angeschaut habe, wenn ich an den PC durfte :P Nostalgie pur, genau wie die alte Titanic von Max xD oft findet man mich unter Nightcores oder AMVs zu Animes :P

I associate playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Team in the back of my dads car with this. Going on vacation, a long drive. And I was doing a Dungeon that seemed infinetely long. What a nice memory.

Ich sitze hier gerade mit Tränen in den Augen ,ich hatte plötzlich einen Ohrwurm von dem Lied und musste es einfach hören . Ich verbinde dieses Lied mit sowielen schönen Erinnerungen (Kindheit ,Urlaub ...)

früher immer gehört im sommer weil es mein vater mochte da war ich so 6-7 jahre alt und jetzt bin ich einfach schon 18, die zeit vergeht, dieses lied ist echt pure nostalgie
