Emily Ocker's Circular Cast On

Emily Ocker's circular cast on is a great way to create a tight, even center when you are knitting in the round from the center out. The stitches seem to grow evenly out from the center giving your work a polished and well made look.

Added this to my favorites! I used a different video to learn this cast on but putting the stitches on only two needles to start is pure genius! I had so much trouble starting with stitches on four needles!

Excellent. But oops I noticed you didn’t knit all the stitches in the first round thru the back loop, I assume that was just muscle memory. I am about to start a project in the round and need to create a no hole look, thanks for the technique

I tried disappearing loop first and although I’m sure the concept is essentially it, I didn’t find success until now, two tries after watching this video! Thank you

I’ll have to try this. I’m attempting Elizabeth Zimmerman’s pi shawl. I noticed even though she said to knit in the back of the twisted stitches on the first row, she did both 😉

Doing this with a crochet hook makes so much more sense to me than trying to do this with DPN's.

Thank you, I am for reasons unknown I am unable to hold the working yarn how everyone else does when knitting or crocheting so I was really struggling (it physically hurt my hands to hold the yarn + needles how they do) with the other way to invisible magic circle knit cast on this is a life saver

Is this the same as the pin hole co? I noticed you stated to knit into the back of the stitches on the first rnd, as they are twisted, but you didn't do that on all of them?

Very helpful video. But I have a question. Do you have to knit through the back loop for the whole project? If not how do you know when to switch back to the regular way of knitting?

How does the size of the crochet hook relate to the size of the knitting needles you use? Are they the same or is one bigger than the other?

Very useful and clear instructions, however, if I could request -- on next video please speak up a little more. I had to turn my computer audio up all the way and shut off everything in the room in order to hear what you were saying. Thanks. :)
