Lorelai's paranoia about her parents is too much sometimes. She doesn't think a professional is capable of working with different people without gossiping? This poor woman enjoys her work and just wants to do her job. She isn't one of Emily's DAR cronies.

Lorelai isn't comfortable with her mother being involved in/or knowing her business, so she set boundaries. She's a designer. There is no confidentiality agreement unless she makes one.

@@MrHappy3feet ...which is exactly what she did here ! "She said she couldn't help me out but she wouldn't say why ! So I leaned on her a bit, she cracked and said she'd made you certain promises". Emily did pry this time, as Lorelai had predicted. And boy did she subsequently judge and get involved.
