*Works great and is lightweight **MyBest.Tools** Comes apart for cleaning/fits back together easily. It replaced my carpet shampooer. Great on hardwood as well.*

Thank you for this video however I spoke to Dyson team and they advised me not to use any detergent when cleaning the filter as it can damage it- we should only be using cold water!

If the smell of the filter is a problem, Zoflora do a antibacterial spray in a can which is a very fine mist and in different scents. That way you aren’t washing it in the detergent

Thanks this video helped me clean my Dyson v8 perfectly. However, there is a minor catch you might have missed mentioning. While putting the collector box back into the handle, there is a lever in the handle that needs to be rotated anti-clockwise; otherwise, the collector box's lid will not close after being attached to the handle.

Where all your hair gets caught at the end of the head, you can use a quick unpick that's used for sewing to easily remove the hair. It's much easier than trying to navigate scissors around. This goes for your other rotating head as well!! 😃

Oh my gosh! I know so many who think I’m crazy that I clean my cleaning supplies! Absolutely love this. Some vacuums have such weird crevices where you need special flex scrubbers. I’d really love to get one of these for convenience!

Hi Emily, I just came here so I can tell you how much I enjoy your videos my comment doesn't have anything to do with this vid and I don't have a Dyson but I still watched this. I can't believe someone made an official complaint I just saw the other video, they are just jealous don't let them get to you. My fav thing about you is your positive attitude, you inspire so many people. I bought a dyson when they 1st came out (member the grey & yellow thing 🤣😂 showing my age!) I now have a Shark & ive had nothing but problems with it since i got it. Think ill be investing in 1 of these.

Craziest thing that you make it look easy and I cannot for the life of me remove the battery from the main piece. 20 minutes, will not pull apart. you do it so quickly, i've rewound this 100x.

Great video Emily. Two more parts to clean. 1 The blue filter can be unclipped, there will be dust inside the filter. Clean out the dust, then wash filter. 2 The main head that the blue filter fits into, can be washed. I leave it in warm water for 5 minutes, so much dirt and dust when rinsing. I then put back into clean warm water, more dirt and dust appears. I also run under tap at different stages. Thanks again

I am on my second V8 animal and luckily I kept the old one. It comes in handy when I wash the filters as I use the old ones and can allow a lot of time for drying without having my vacuum out of order whilst I wait for it to dry.

Hi Emily! Great video! I have the v6 and am seriously considering upgrading so it was interesting to see how you need to care for the v8. It looks a bit more fiddly than the v6 I reckon... Also, randomly I was at a dyson event on Saturday and a dyson rep there told me it is a common mistake to clean the filter the way you did... she said to clean it dry first, tip all the dust out by knocking it upside. Secondly run it under water like you did but up the other way... she said otherwise you get damp dust clogging up the filter and you may as well not have bothered! I thought that was interesting as I always did it the same way as you. Hope that helps! X

Apparently the canister latch was fixed in v10. Call Dyson to replace your canister so you don’t get dirt and dust spilled all over you. Good luck

When cleaning the long filter flip the end off and remove Centre to take out the Gung in the middle which causes the " pulsing problem"

I just cleaned the center blue filter (the long one), which I have not done so far thinking "oh... but it still looks clean" and couldn't believe the amount of dust that accumulated there. This tip alone may be fixing the constant pulsing problem we were having... We'll know tomorrow when everything dries out and we re-assemble. Thanks!

The middle purple part also comes apart. So once pulling out the long cylinder part there are three little notches. Push each one with a blunt knife and the actually purple mesh comes away from the frame

I have the Dyson V8 animal cordless vacume just slightly different from yours and I love it so much I've had it for many years. I'm embarrassed to admit that in all that time I've never properly cleaned my vacune throughly. I only removed my hair from roller. I saw many other videos in how to clean it, but none compared to you they just dust it off and don't wash the parts. Thank you so much for showing up how to property clean it. Mine was so disgusting It took me so much time to clean the brush cover with the microfiber cloth.

Great video! Well done on not getting the contacts wet, I notice many people do and it’s annoying! Just to say you shouldn’t really use the soft ‘fluffy’ head on rugs and carpets, the other head supplied similar to what the V6 came with is designed for carpets and rugs. Spot on using the soft head for floors though.

I've got the v6 but I'm one of those that can take something apart but struggle putting it all back 🙈. You do make it look easy though. Looking great as usual. Xx
