As a fellow 3rd gen owner, i love this truck. I am starting my truck buld. So far i have slapped in the Bilstein 6112/5160s, and a Bestop supertop canopy. Adding a lift, when done right, truly changes the performance and feel of the truck. I couldnt agree more. I still have the stock radials on my truck in 245. However, i am putting my fund together to get the baja boss and method 703 combo in 16s. I love the look of your truck. Black is sucha simple, great colour for these rigs. Look forward to it being paid off so i can re-gear it and cmc for 35s. I am following the channel as of today, and look forward to more neat videos from you. Take care.

You should look into the overland Taylor tune. Just got it and set to the mild medium tune. Night and day difference.

Thanks! I had a great teacher. Emily is very patient. 😅 I can’t stand listening to myself talk, but glad you liked it!

This is a great video. Thank you for putting it together. Here are a couple of questions: 1. I see that you kept the air bags although you upgraded the rear suspension. I plan to add about 800 lbs when even I over land. Thats 300 lbs for the camper and 500 lbs for everything else (this is a gen 4 with a recommended payload max of 1200) based on your video, it seems like the air bags are still strongly recommend? 2. Do the airbags limit your rear travel?

Thanks for watching and great questions. We would definitely recommend them, because they’ll level you out and keep you from sagging. You can also get something called Daystar cradles, which allow your airbags to float so it doesn’t interfere with your travels. Hope that helps!

I am looking into going with the TRD off road Tacoma and the 4 Wheel Camper Project M. It is, of course, signicantly lighter than a slide in camper. I am expecting to be able to keep the load of the camper and my gear when fully loaded to under 1000 lbs. I will be going off road to places similar to where you go. I am curious if you think I will be okay with the TRD off road stock, or do you think it will need modifications.

Thanks for the question! With the Project M being so much lighter, you might want to give it a try with the stock suspension before you make any mods. Our Fleet is pretty heavy and we had to make mods before we installed it, and then more mods again after a couple of years. Stoked for your new setup! Happy trails!

To fit 33's, one absolutely does NOT need to cut or weld anything, just run the right size pizza cutters and you'll be fine. Although, with this much weight...not sure that they make a pizza cutter strong enough to handle all of that. I run OME's for my suspension, I prefer them to Ickcon or Flox. Gonna run the Panamerican soon; not much hardcore offroading there, so airbags are not needed. The OME 7 spring kit with bp-51's will keep everything in check just fine. Nice vid. Cheers and happy journeys

Thanks for watching and commenting! Have an awesome trip on the PanAm. That’s a dream for us that will hopefully turn to reality someday. Cheers and safe travels!
