Love the song. This is pretty nit-picky. I know she means well but choice is not a luxury (it is important though). There doesn't exist anyone with no ability to choose (minus the heavily brain-damaged). You can always choose no matter how good or dire the situation - just take a look at history and the absolutely atrocious circumstances people were in. You'll see how often people have found themselves in 'damned if I do and damned if I don't' scenarios, of which still remained their ability to voluntarily choose their fate or let others or external circumstances choose it for them. What are the most heroic actions if not these? Another thing is the moral question of whether or not people all deserved to be 'helped', and also specifying what you mean by 'help'. Giving a cocaine addict lots of money as 'help' is just going to kill the person. What about locking up dangerously mentally-ill people against their will, you're surely not helping them but helping people around them? etc. Anyways it's complicated, but yes, effective help is great, as opposed to naive 'help'.
