While I like and respect Eminem, it’s almost like everyone praises him for this but discounts the hundreds before his fame blew up. His music needed to be made. His lyrics needed to be heard. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be so famous that you can’t leave your house without being noticed or spyed on. Everything you do is questioned & commented on. Yes, they choose to be famous but I believe him when he said he just wanted his music to be heard without all the other bs. They choose to be famous but they also are human and make mistakes but their mistakes are out for everyone to see and comment on. I’m sure it’s hard but never worrying about money might be worth it, just sayin. Haha. I’m worrying today about where my next grocery trip is gonna come from…he could own grocery stores lol. I don’t know which would be better but the grass is always greener so they say. We need to learn to be happy where we are, love what we have & be grateful for it. Be well all. And remember, you never know what someone is going through & one kind word could make all the difference. Let’s take care of each other in 2024! ♥️✌🏻♥️

In the early 90s, I played in a band that was well known in our region (Tampa Bay and Orlando). We weren't actually famous, but a lot of young people (late teens to late 20s) knew us and came to our shows. After working so hard for a year or so, trying to get attention for our band and our shows, we got to the point that we were often recognized in public. I couldn't go to the local mall or my favorite clubs without strangers coming up and talking to me. I once got interrupted while I was at a restaurant eating dinner with my wife, which was pretty jarring. I was enormously grateful for the people that supported our music, and I always tried to be gracious and considerate with strangers. But I definitely didn't like the public attention all that much. And this was only like 0.0000001% of the kind of attention an actual famous person experienced. I can only imagine the mindf*ck of real fame.

Prolly doing downers and xanax too to sleep. Its something else having your privacy and ability to disappear and fade into a crowd ripped away from you, your family, your friends and associates…being associated with u all of a sudden becomes a blessing and a curse of unmistakable identity to the masses worldwide! Slim Shady was a persona he had to embody to deal with the fame side of things. Slim had a thick skin, slim didn’t give a fuck and could handle all the touring hours and grueling studio hours…slim shady could swallow all the drugs and marshall felt the consequences of all of that at the end. When you have to split your entire identity to swallow the shock of your entire life becoming a financial entity and brand that other people control…thats a trauma shared by only a select few worldwide superstars and everyone wants a piece of them, highest bidder asking price…thats what they mean when they say the price of fame is your soul sold to the devil. Power and corruption run alongside the devil.
