so i'll start by saying that i'm from Detroit, and i was at the concert last night. that building in the background was the Michigan Central Station in Detroit. it had been closed since this 80's (i belive... i was born in 83, and it was closed before i was born). the building has been renovated and is reopening, and this was a celebration for a monument of Detroit being brought back to life after decades of abandonment. it's not open yet, but there were tours today, and it will be opening in few more days, if i understand correctly. that's what the whole concert was about- to celebrate the reopening of one of our landmarks... and the whole show was FIRE!!!

I’ve been clean for years too. Im a 60 year old white woman JUST now discovering Em and I am mesmerized. I totally missed the whole Hip Hop Culture. Canada always a bit late to the games😢 I got clean in the mid 80’s. I think I stuck myself in a time warp. Stevie I am loving your show too. I can’t believe the energy of this man. This is such a time for Detroit and Em is 🔥🔥 this FREE concert was celebrating the re-opening of the Detroit train station. It’s so much more than a building. Detroit has been deteriorating for YEARS after the big 3 employees starting moving to the suburbs. Not just run down, but looking like a war zone with the broken down, half demolished, burned buildings, overgrown lots… just blight everywhere you look. Add in the city leaders being crooks, crime, poverty and Detroit was DOWNHILL. For those who have seen this city slowly coming back to its glory it means so much! Em is back, we’re revitalizing the city, Lions are actually WINNING, people are actually coming to the D again!! Thats why you see people hugging and so happy. Thanks Em for all the love! I grew up about 30 min north of the city and seeing this all happen has been amazing. Love you Em, The Ford Family & Detroit!! Way to make us proud again ❤️❤️

This was the comment I was looking for. I hope people from Detroit understand how much more than just a building being restored this thing is all about. It's about a journey through life. About all the shit and hard work and a little bit of hope coming from the select few that make it and are not only selfish human beings doing everything for money, that was a free show. Em always repped his city with pride and humility. It makes people feel that there's is something better up ahead if you work hard enough.

The occasion for the concert was the re-opening of Central Station. The Station has been derelict and abandoned ever since it was destroyed in the Civil rights march riots in the 1960's. Ford Motor Company bought, and renovated the building, as it is an absolute staple of the community. Em has filmed many music videos there over the years.

This was the grand reopening of the Michigan Central Train Station. It has been restored after it was saved from demolition; it had been vacant from 1988-2018. A lot of the "Detroit vs Everybody" video was filmed there. Big Sean was a producer of a documentary: "Detroit: Comeback City" in 2018 when Ford bought it; I appeared in it as part of the Great Migration part. #WhatUpDoe

We (Detroit) were celebrating the grand reopening of Michigan Central Station which was the building in the backdrop. It’s taken 6 long years. If you’ve never been to Detroit I encourage you to come visit. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

We had such a great time Thursday night… living in in Detroit we are blessed with more Eminem shows then most people realize.. you are always invited my friend anytime we have an extra room… we were celebrating the reopening of the Detroit Central Station. It was a train station from the early days and Ford Motor Company bought that building restored it put in over 1 Billion dollars and because of them Detroit is not the same city you use to hear about. This is more of the Detroit from the 60’s and 70’s minus the racism. Our city has become something very special..

The Fords renovated Michigan Central Train Station and this show was produced to celebrate that. The train station was in ruins for so many years and those of us in Detroit hoped someone would renovate instead of tearing this grand building down.
