The beats are actually incredibly intricate because instead of the beat carrying the song, his cadence carries the beat. The beats are designed to be integrated into his lyrics and cadence to be one. Anyone can make a good beat and a hook/chorus to make a popular song. No one ever breaks down those songs because they are simple and just sound fun. The most popular songs he's done have the most popular beats (e.g. Lose Yourself). He likes getting off on his lyrics rather than having some easy fun beat that no one would listen to what he's saying. What he says and how he says them are the feature.

If Stevie isn't making a living from this, he should be. Can see how invested the man is in breaking down music. No one does it better. I learn a lot just from watching these videos.
