I think it drove him crazy because Canibus (much like Eminem) is someone who really cares about his craft. He really did help to create a monster record indirectly and it fed with his head. Respect for being honest no matter how long it took; it's cool for the fans to know these things.

Canibus disrespected em on Canibus video shoot and then after that when Canibus realized that em didn’t write that song for LL he tried to reach out to em through letters and the first one he apologized and the second he told em “hey you haven’t written back but yeah I think we should work together “ em didn’t reply and then Canibus wrote a third letter saying “ f u who do you think you are ignoring me bla bla bla” and then Eminem used that motivation to write the song Stan. Em talks about it in the song “can I bitch” look it up. Than Canibus dropped an album titled “C Hollywood stories” where he supposedly brought Stan back to life and took him on tour. I’ve been listening to his discography for the past few weeks. Canibus is in my top 4. He’s on the Mt. Rushmore of greatest rappers of all time. On his best day, he’s the GOAT. His best bars and verses are on another level.

That was simultaneously the funniest, saddest, realest, and most pathetic shit I’ve ever heard…and I’m proud of him for coming clean about it all. What could’ve been. The lyricism when canibus came out was hitting such an amazing peak, and he was such a hungry beast killing mixtapes and features. Honestly when his debut dropped I loved it, there were 6 or 7 songs on it that I thought were amazing. I was young as hell but it showed me how advanced hiphop could be intellectually in a different way. I felt the same way when I started dissecting capital punishment. For like 3-4 months nothing else mattered. It takes a really great artist who’s doing something really special to make you feel that way. Marshall Mathers LP did it to me too, like listening to it like wtf is going on, I can’t believe this guy created this. It would be dope if they connected and talked, not even having to make records together, because I know a young Eminem was hearing canibus smash into the game and was thinking this guy is something to be reckoned with.

Eminem is in my top 3, Canibus was surgical with the bars, I enjoy music from them both, at the end of the day hip hop is about how it makes you feel at a particular time, this is Hip Hop, salute to all the ill emcees.

Damn I feel for Cann because he was out there back then and that moment that he met Eminem literally defined the rest of his career regardless of the dope music he's made and all that because he just let that moment bring him down.

Back when Stan first start airing in Detroit, a lot of Hip Hop head always knew it was a subliminal toward Canabis at first.

You gotta hear a few of Bis’s first few albums to hear all the subliminals. I was so hyped up waiting for them to go fill in at it or make a colab. Em and Bis would have made one of the most creative collaborations of all time.

Real talk ... people like Canibus although good at what he does/did never had anyone to truly pull his coat tail or take him under their wing and with a genuine heart guide him through the rap game land mines that others had laid for young naive dudes. No one can state what could've been squashed between people when you're not traveling in their shoes.
