There are far more cons to leaving them in tact when you don't intend to breed them than getting them 'fixed'. There are a decent amount of health issues that crop up, not to mention their lifespan can be shortened by sexual activity. It's not just beneficial to the owner to get them spayed/neutered, but declawing is a purely selfish and superficial procedure people make when they don't want to deal with issues they really should have known very well they'd have to deal with when purchasing or adopting their kitty. Female cats particularly can have their health impacted by pregnancies, and male cats experience *more anxiety* when not neutered. They are more territorial, more stressed, and more likely to spray around the house outside the litterbox than a neutered cat, which doesn't have all those hormones driving them to freak out about every strange cat they might so much as smell through the door.
