I haven't yet seen a match where Raducanu quit when she was ahead. I gather it did happen once in a tournament a few months ago, but I've not seen the footage

I like athletes who fight til the end. Or at least to finish a match even when they are losing. I guess this requires a lot of humility…

She is always doing that, when she feel lose she gives up and the reason is injury and after 1 week you found her in another tournament

Radacanu could learn a lot from Ostapenko, who also won a slam very young and out of nowhere, then struggled to live up to that high bar she set for herself, even if she's stuck around and had some good results since.

If a player retries from a match,I expect them to have a real injury or illness. Emma retires a lot but it never seems like there's anything truly wrong with her

Its good to see Emma has more sting on her strokes and doing much better. WHen she hit those fluffies to the middle, Penko was teeing off on them. Good match, I was rooting for both ladies. When JO is on, she puts so much pressure on every shot b/c win or lose, she's going for a winner.

Learning to lose with humility and respect for the opponent is part of being a credible sportsperson. Emma falls short in this regard a little too often...

Emma totally could've won this match. She needs more mental and physical toughness not just to survive the grind of pro tennis, but to thrive in it.

The great Roger Federer retired yesterday. He has many extraordinary stats, though perhaps one of the most impressive is the fact he never once retired mid-match. Not once, in 1750 matches spanning 24 years! Emma could learn from this.
