I mean, I don’t want to read to much into things as the two of them are real people, with real lives and it’s non of our business what they are to each other but I just wanted to point this out because I think it’s adorable… In this video, Tom and Emma are both on Tom’s skateboard and Emma is WEARING A BACKWARD CAP! She’s a girl with a skateboard and a backward cap! She became the incarnation of what young Tom thought god (or in this case a goddess) looks like!! I think it’s cute! 🥺

In a way I think it's so much more beautiful that nothing romantic ever did happen. Just imagine if they had dated as kids, they probably would have broken up again as many childhood relationships do, but the way they remained friends and so deeply care about one another now, to this day after so many years is one of the most beautiful things in human experience. I have a friend that I experienced something similar with and you'll always love those people despite everything. They'll always be in your life forever.

It's because everything seems perfect until we reach them. That person is excellent for you because you never dated them and saw their flaws. Falling in love is something like this. We tend to see only the good sides of that person. But in reality, It's just some chemicals in our brain which makes us feel that way. After some time, those chemicals don't affect you and you start realizing that that person is actually not that amazing.

Nothing romantic ever happened, just love. What a concept! And at the end of the documentary Rupert and Emma saying that they love each other, then clarifying for the audience that it’s not romantic. I think the world at large needs to be reminded that there are more kinds of love than romantic love. Saying, “I love you,” doesn’t necessarily mean you want to dance between the sheets with that person; it could mean that you would die for them or go through hell for them. Or like when I told my father in law on his death bed that I loved him and that I would take care of his daughter and grandchildren (my kids), the context was a paternal love, a love of family. Gruff old sailor lived an adventurous life only to get taken down by cancer.

@@andrewnix6480 - This sounds more like the optimist vs. the pessimist, or perhaps, though I consider myself to be a bit cynical, perhaps you are more cynical. This would be based on the “similar” experiences we’ve had in our own lives. I love a couple of women (and men) beyond the norm such that occasionally it is assumed we are a couple when in fact we aren’t. I love my wife even more deeply and thoroughly than I love these other of whom I speak yet I would happily lay down my life for any of them (while taking out as many of those or whatever it is that threatens them). But, to be sure, there is no jealously amongst the few of us, and, of course, in the course of our daily lives my wife is the only one I see on a regular basis and who is foremost in my thoughts. But, in no case, does that diminish my devotion or love toward these others. Of course, I might add that I have devoted my life, as it pertains to all other sentient beings, to one of compassion, kindness, and what in Greek would be termed “agape” or in Pali (and possibly, Sanskrit) is called Metta. It is roughly translated as “loving kindness” but with less of myself in it and something more added toward their welfare, but without devaluing my “self”. That said, there still remain those few people whom I love even more with no ulterior motive whatsoever. And I must add that not all of this group returns that feeling to the same degree, but, at least, one does. And I can look her in the eyes and say “I love you” with no concern of being misunderstood. I’ve met others who are able to have these kinds of relationships which, in my case are not familial, can often be identified by the quality of feeling like we pick back up exactly where we left off, and where when something is “up” with them, good or bad, and they are in need, I will get an unconscious sense of it that manifest as me calling them, or me thinking about them suddenly only to have them call moments later. If you’ve not experienced this kind Of deeply abiding loving relationship yet I hope you do soon. It is a gratifying experience to know one is loved unconditionally for that is what this is. In the case of Emma Watson and Tom Felton (where he as being older than her at a young age for both) developed a need or desire to protect her while she had a younger persons crush, but was not hurt to find that their feelings were not reflections, and she was able to develop that crush into that ability to feel open to him (vulnerable was her word, I believe) then the kind of loving relationship without romantic involvement may develop from it. This is most likely to happen between people who spend a long time together or go through something traumatic together, while recognizing that a romance would not be the best option for them. To summarize, in no case can any of us, including them, truly know for certain what the other means when those very magic words are spoken. But we can choose to view it with open yet untainted (or healed, perhaps) eyes and assume the best. This allows us to wish them the very best, and hope that we, too, can share in a relationship like that in our own lives. My very best wishes to you with Metta, JTI

People can say there's nothing there all they like. We all see the way their eyes and face literally shine when they are talking about how much they love each other. Maybe it's just not been the right time for them. Maybe it'll happen, or maybe it won't. I just hope they are both happy with whoever they end up with. My husband and I didn't date for 10 years before there was anything serious and it started just like that. A little petty crush when I was 13. He didn't feel that way about me back then either. 14 years later now, married with a son together and taken on my eldest daughter as his own.

But not romantically in any way. The line between friendship and a relationship is close, but there's just nothing romantic about it (nor would we want anything to be), and I cannot imagine ever feeling any different. Heck, I can't wait for his wedding and meeting his future kids and wife. I think it's sad how people automatically jump to love being romantic and don't accept that that friendship can be a beautiful part of life too.

I think that’s absolutely beautiful. Nothing romantic has ever happened but they just love each other. The way they speak of each other in such a high manner, the absolute respect, it is seriously beautiful. I don’t know about anyone else, but I feel like it’s very hard to have real friends and people who care for you on such a high level in this generation. People just sleep with each other like it’s nothing, hurt each other like it’s nothing, lie, cheat, play games. It’s really refreshing to see two such popular, well respected actors that would have spent hours, weeks, and months bonding, talking, experiencing and spending time with each other and have nothing but respect for each other it is truly beautiful. Maybe in the future something could happen, maybe something did happen but they have a lot of respect for each other and prefer to keep it hidden because it didn’t work, who knows, but good for them. Couldn’t have imagined anyone else ever playing their roles!

Basically describes my best friendship My friend dated this girl for years, we first met at our high school turkey dinner She was apart of the cooking class so she had to help make it, so by time she was done she was exhausted and she came over and sat on our table, my friend (her now ex) didn’t have his water bottle on him and she was dehydrated from the work and head of the kitchen. And I was like you can use mine. And we just became friends like instantly, she accidentally squeezed the water out all over me like a minute later and we all just died of laughter😂 Fast forward a couple of months I became more friends with her than him. Than forward a couple years to last summer they broke up, and I told my friend this, I said “just so you know. I am still gonna continue being friends with her. I treat her like a sister” and he was like “yeah that’s okay” 1 week later he sees us having dinner at a restaurant and just totally drops our friendship, and I said it again “dude. We aren’t ever gonna be anything. She’s too much of a sister to me so I wouldn’t ever do anything with her” but it was no worth. But she was worth it. The friendship we have is just too good. Don’t get me wrong I was heartbroken over losing my friendship with him, he was my oldest friend at that point being the only one I’ve talked to ever since moving to this town in grade 3 But for him to expect me to choose between him or her, I’m gonna choose the one that didn’t ask of that. She was surprised I kept being friends with her over him, but I was like “You didn’t mind it if I stayed his friend. He did if I kept being friends with you. True friends don’t make you choose” But it’s a good bond. I will always love her and and look out for her. And make sure no other man mistreats her

It’s best to not sit there and watch your friend lose herself. Tell her that you mean well and that you only wish for her happiness, which this former friend is not at all providing her.
