Even if tithe is not compulsory, I'm still going pay because I need to have a percentage of my earnings that I won't eat . Discipline is important, God doesn't like stingy people. It's not even about the reward, I need it for my soul, can be like the rich fool; I, myself, me, my , mine🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️. Let God take the 10% .

When Jesus died on the cross, he died for all. Even the stingy people. The NT has no verse that the church need to tithe 10%. The OT does, along with whole other list of laws to follow. My question are we still under the law??
@tamiausten8737 ай бұрын
@@ChiomaChinedu714 good point though. Me paying tithe is a way for me to be used to giving. Funny enough, the new testament prescribes 100% , give your all. At least 10% is an attempt and shouldn't be forced by the church, let everyone grow with God
@jayaustin19397 ай бұрын
@@tamiausten873The new testament does not demand 100%. 2 Cor.9:7 prescribes how Christians should give. Simple.

Myles munroe have a perspective I will never forget Jesus brought the kingdom to earth and Jesus first message was (repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand) He furthered that by saying that every kingdom have laws(Bible in our case) every kingdom pay tax (tithing ) every citizen of the kingdom worship the king(human created for His pleasure) I will stop here
@olalekanadewale49676 ай бұрын
@@flamingfirenetworkFrom Myles point of view. Quite a reasonable point of view I admit, But definitely not the absolute. Christ brought the kingdom earth but he said absolutely nothing about tithes. Food for thought, if tithe was essential to the kingdom, don't you think the one person that brought the kingdom would have at least mentioned it. Maybe tax, sorry tithe was never really meant for the true children of the kingdom, just as royalties like Prince Charles, now King Charles and his descendants are not liable to pay tax. Not so sure about his descendants but I bet Charles himself doesn't pay taxes. Because he himself is the collector. My point is this, we can't always go off on the revelation or insight that some of this so called Men of God has, because revelation/insight are often time personal. I personally prefer allowing God and Christ himself to reveal stuff to me.

@@olalekanadewale4967 I really appreciate your feedbacks, I will give just a scripture to support this. Matt 23:23 (Jeesus was the onee speaking heree, not any other person ) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to LEAVEE THE OTHER UNDONE What Jesus was saying here is that the Pharisee elevated things that doesn’t transcend beyond this realm and have neglected the weightier matters. Your faith transcends beyond your death (Faith in thee son of GOD, By faith through grace ), so is your judgement(judge and he not be judged) and mercy: Matt 25: 35. -40. Now your tithing and giving doeesnt transcend beyound this realm. As long as thee earth remains, seed time and harveest, sowing and reeaping. eetc. Your tithe doesnt save you, nor does it have consequence afteer this age. so Jesus was saying here that thee pharisees emphasize what doesnt have eternal significance over what have eteernal significance. Since Jesus himself did not reproof tithing. Tithing is not wrong However, the eneew testament beeliever is supposed to give. liberally because we give becaused we are bleessed, not because we aree mandated. so our proof of giveen is a proof of blessing. so wheen we dont give. its a sign we are showing that GOD doesnt bless us. To wrap it all, if you tithe, its fine, if you dont, its fine also. but the life of a new testament beeliever is not to be confined to thee 10% but rather grow to a point wheree he/she can give all, beecause, we only give because we are now blessed not because of the law
I'm at the right place. Thank you so much sir. Alot of people mix up the giving you to poor as their own tithe. It should be both. Church and giving the the poor are separate and should be done. Thank you for enlightening us.

Tithing was with food. One of the reason for tithing was for the Levite priests because they were not giving land. They were the LORD’s priest. They lived in the temple. Another reason was to help the widows and the Fatherless. Tithing was the old Laws under the old covenant. The book of James says if you break 1 law you break them all. In the New Testament God said this, 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 New American Standard Bible 6 Now I say this: (A)the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows [a]generously will also reap [b]generously. 7 Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not (B)reluctantly or under compulsion, for (C)God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And (D)God is able to make all grace overflow to you, so that, always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; Under the law you had to give over 10% that was the Law. Now we give what our hearts tells us to give. God was very big about giving to the poor . At times some of pastors are using and richer and richer off your so called tithing money. Remember Levites did not receive land, some of pastors hit homes that are so big brand name clothes while the people are struggling. God also warns us about these wolves and how they will use the word of God and use the people for money. I don’t know these pastor so I am calling him a wolf.

God will bless the remaining 90% n guard it. He will open the windows of Heaven onto you. He said bring it into the store house so He will bless you. In the New Testament they bring everything to the house of God. Remember Ananayas n Sophias tried to keep some back n prophecy dropped n they dropped dead. You will still go to Heaven if you don’t pay tithe. But when you pay, God promised that in blessing He will bless us. You will not be cursed if you don’t pay tithe n will still go to Heaven. This is a powerful message n cautiously delivered.

Tithe paying or soliciting is an insult to the blood of the new covenant and plain unrighteousness outside the realm of faith. We can’t tip or trip God, He gave us 100% and he owns it all. We give as we have been given , freely. And asking him daily for His will and aligning our will with His. Tithe was a grain Offering and an old ordinance , Christ Jesus, abolished those laws and encourages us to live in love and give of ourselves sacrificially for our familia. If you love God , almost 100% of your expenses will go to kingdom uses. Not a single selfish purchase . Includes keeping your word to Pay ur rent , or give to caeser what is his. ( the tax man , firs etc) . Our kingdom is not built on mammon and it should never be a priority to be preached on a pulpit. Every move of the kingdom on earth is provided for by God and sons of men like us walking in obedience and being angels to ecclesia. Will of God be done through us , kingdom of God come through us , to us and for us! If Christ on earth was silent on something and the apostles didn’t teach it, on who’s authority Are we commanding tithes? And agriculturally themed offering from the Old Testament. Every need of the church is met by the church with the coordination of its leadership , we give freely as we have received freely. It is even sin to preach an old ordinance that Christ outlawed.

I fully understand your sentiment. However you might want to revise your biblical knowledge on tithing. The concept of tithing was not started under the Moses law. It was done in the days of Abraham meeting the high priest Melchizedek, in whose order Jesus falls under. This happened way before God gave the laws to Moses. And Jesus did in fact speak on tithing and encouraged us to pay it. Matthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42. Nonetheless I understand that tithing under the law, the version of tithing that strictly takes 10% and which is punishable if unpaid is abolished. This does not take away the fact that tithing is indeed pleasing to God. As new testament believers out starting point is 10% and we are supposed to increase it as God increases us. Tithing is not just done "when you feel like it".
