What annoys me is that any geek identifies with Finn and we wanted him to 'win' in the end but he wasn't given that opportunity. One of the last things he witnessed was Lawrence in bed with Robert. What a memory to leave this Earth with.

I will agree with you on the writing being poor. But about the acting? Fight me bitch! :P But honestly Corrie seems desperate now Emmerdale is better. I mean, Kate is probably worse than Iain as she feels the need to have big things happen all the time, which has caused her to do the same/similar storylines on the two soaps. But Iain is still shit, he's brought in 7 characters (incl births) and had 11 exits, with 2 still due to air. If it keeps going like this, by the time he's finished Emmerdale will be an abandoned village near Hotten...

danielroxheaps When they act with their facial expressions, they're fine but the line delivery is always a bit awkward. Most of that may be down to the writing, though. Anyway, as far as Corrie goes at the moment, it's insulting to watch them flatten what were once amazingly well rounded characters like Jenny and David and the other problem is that Kate Oates doesn't like committing to anything. If a character dies, they always come back, no matter how stupid the explanation is and she curiously goes out of her way to ensure that no current characters outside of Tracy and maybe Phelan kill anyone. Take Daniel for instance. They introduce his mother only to say "look! He didn't kill anyone, look!" and then immediately take her out of the show. It would be so much more interesting to leave it to the viewers' interpretation, but Oates treats her audiences like utter morons. And whenever they tackle social issues, it's always incredibly ham fisted and on the nose, as if they think that by making a statement about these issues, they have an excuse for sloppy writing. Emmerdale has always been a bit stupid since the 2010s, but now that Corrie is heading down that same path, I might end up quitting soaps altogether.

Funny thing is though she quit Emmerdale for that short stint and since ED killed her off she can't return lol. Also yeah Iain did better on the social issues than Kate. If Kate had done Ashley's dementia she would have made it long and boring. I stopped watching corrie after Neil turned out to be a police officer. What social issue does that tackle? Hopefully the next ED producer can bring it back to being a better soap or else I'll just stop watching entirely.
