I totally get you on the font of the book being important and impacting the reading experience. The 1st edition of David Copperfield I borrowed from the library had such a tiny font, and the text was squished together that it made me nervous. I had to beg my librarians to find me another edition, and they gave me a slightly better one. Also I have eye problems which makes reading small font even worse.

Oooo have you read Eartheater by Dolores Reyes? It’s an Argentinian novel about a girl who eats earth in order to connect with people who’ve died. So people come to her for help, but she’s also ostracized as a witch in her small community. It honestly wasn’t a favorite of mine, but I still liked it and it goes so closely into what you’re writing about.

Emma!! I read this book called Eartheater by Dolores Reyes in which the main character sounds like she was based on Rebecca but I haven’t read Marquez yet so I never made that connection. In any case, although it wasn’t my fave, I thought you might be interested given it’s relevance to your essay. Lots of love❤️❤️

To be concise, think twice. I've spent a lifetime of writing learning to be concise in phrasing, which means reducing what I want to say to basics. You're doing fine, Emma. That it's hard to write short means you're seeing the problem all to many rush past.

Watching emmie’s videos makes me want to take some lit classes again. When I first got into college I started taking lit classes + drama classes and I loved all my lit classes 💙 discussing ideas with professors was always fun (if they actually cared about the content of the book, because there’s always a black sheep among them hehe). I am now an ER nurse.. quite a drastic change but I’m definitely looking for another career since working as a nurse will literally take off years of your life and I, at least, want to reach 60 😂 anyways, I’m rambling. Love your blogs that’s basically what I wanted to say haha

Emma Hi! I love your videos and vlogs! I never comment but I couldn’t help when you talked about wanting to write about buried women haha, or as tombs and graveyards, it reminded me of a book a read in high school called “La amortajada” or “the shrouded woman” in English, I remember it was about the feelings and thoughts of a woman in her tomb, if I recall correctly, I read it years ago when I was like fourteen, didn’t understand much, but I think it could be a cool recommendation! Obviously if you hadn’t already read it, I hope you keep doing well! And thank you for another relaxing vlog! (I’m sorry if my grammar and vocabulary are a little strange I’m still learning English)

Women as tombs is such a scary topic. I remember reading an old short epic poem about construction of a medieval town when they literally burried a young woman alive inside the wall (among the stones and bricks) as some kind of sacrifice. It was horrible. In Serbian it is called "Zidanje Skadra" ("Building the Skadar" would be a rough translation).

I love a study vlog 😊 I have only one more thing to write for school myself, but there are like three or four textbooks that I read massive chunks of and want to finish even though the courses are all done (because the material is extremely interesting) so most of the rest of my month outside of Game of Tomes is going to be a bunch more depressing reading about the historical memory of super culturally traumatic events in Eastern Europe and some more fun essays about the experience of Canadian women and girls in the Second World War - it's sort of school work but I don't have to write anything about it anymore so I'm happy

Hey Emma, I'm halfway through "Season of Migration to the North" and I'm absolutely loving it, thank you so much for recommending it! I wanted to suggest some books for you around the world challenge from my country, Macedonia: Pirey by Petre M. I'm planning on reading more Macedonian novels so hopefully I'll leave another comment in the future when I have more recommendations
