We heard about Jakarta's SCBD and it was marketed as something of the "Dubai" of Jakarta. The area is actually incredible! We would assume that property etc is crazy expensive here as there were so many security teams and we even saw a couple of K9 teams!
It was nice to visit as a good change of pace from the rest of Jakarta.

Jakarta is an amazing city which sometimes gets overlooked - it is modern and dynamic. I have been there 3 times with my recent trip was this year.

If you look at Google, it shows that SCBD is owned/managed by private sector not government, that's why everything can looked so much different than other area in Jakarta, and they have certain rules need to be carried out by people inside the area. It was once a slum area, turned into the most prestigious by an Indonesian businessman. The product of his business mind is impactful enough for the image of once-Indonesian-capital, Jakarta.

Makanya kalau ada tourist yg mau datang ke indonesia atu ada foregner tanya di manapun, recomendasikan dulu jakarta seperti SCBD,pik/pik2 DLL, baru bilang tempat lain di indonesia... Biar indonesia tidak dikatakan hutan,pantai,gunung, dan candi oleh warga eropa... Pengalaman saya pernah liburan ke london, saya bertanya kepada warga sana apa yg terbersit oleh kamu ketika mendengar nama indonesia, terus mereka jawab ada yg bilang, pantai,gunung,alam,laut dan candi, jadi seolah2 negara kita ini tidak ada kota😪... Terus gua liatin ke mereka jakarta khususnya SCBD dan mega kiningan mereka bilang itu tokyo/kota di china😂😂 Makanya branding kita itu harusnya udah mulai bergeser jangan lagi dikit2 bilang bali,borobudur, bilang aja dulu jakarta...biar mereka tahu bahwa indonesia itu juga modern seperti japan/korea....

@@keluargaanna7029 It depends on your place to stay and live. If you stay in Canggu, that place is on the high side and everything was pretty expensive. But if you are staying in Denpasar, thats a whole different story.

Jakarta is the only capital city in the world that has an archipelago. Visit the north of Jakarta, visit the Thousand Islands and stop at Daun Semak Island and Dolphin Island and you will feel like the nation's capital. and I hope you both are always healthy, my brother

20:58 The security type like that (with x ray/metal detector) became the protocol for most buildings in Jakarta, like big malls, offices, star hotels, etc. It's because what happened to Marriott Hotel in 2003. It sucks, but it works to prevent, and we already get used to that kind of security check.

G’day, its great to see both of you enjoying Jakarta. I’m a Jakartan but I used to live in Melbourne for almost 5 years and I think it is still one of the best walkable city in the world. Jakarta has definitely improved for the last decade and it is definitely more walkable city now than ever before. Its also has more variation of interesting places now like Pantai Indah Kapuk waterfont in the North and ample of trendy cafe and restaurants in Southern area like Pondok Indah, Cipete and Kemang. Since you guys @ SCBD definitely worth to try some crazy culinary options and bars/nightclubs at Senopati area

Hey guys, you should visit Bandung and try the HSR. The temperature there is much cooler than Jakarta and imo it has a lot more tourist attraction than Jakarta as it is also a favorite quick vacation destination for most Jakartans. As for the detector, they’re looking for bombs. That’s the norm in Indonesia. Even some establishments use sniffing dog for cars. You shouldn’t worry tho as Indonesia is generally safe (much safer than the US & Thailand according to the GPI Index) and these measures are taken only as a precaution. Enjoy your trip guys. We have been trying to get tickets for the HSR for a while 😂 haven’t been successful yet, but we will keep trying! Bandung is next 😍 we have heard great things about Bandung! The level of security definitely makes you feel safe, we seen the dogs as well! Amazing 🙏🏼🇮🇩

the thing with indonesia is there is huge polarity in social gamut and infrastructures, some areas at the very top of the pyramid is comparable to any major world cities but not far from it there is flooding, and slums. I live in the eastern part of java, a small town but to a point its the same here too, some street got excess of street lighting and frequent pedestrian beautification throughout the year, yet not far from it there is not even walkway for pedestrian where people walking among vehicles

If you come to Bandung , try WHOOSH the new fastest train , from Halim Station to Padalarang Station and use feeder train from Padalarang to Bandung Station. And near from Bandung Train Station , there is KEHIDUPAN Vegetarian Food Court at Jalan Pajajaran .. hope this help and enjoy your trip ❤

Waste of time and money. Take the executive class Argo Parahyangan. Much nicer and it goes from downtown to downtown. High speed train add 2 hours for reaching the terminal and downtown Bandung.

Go for skydinning cable car in Ancol Beach City. The view and experience is romantic. Rp 250K per person for 90 minutes cable car (includes foods and beverages + appetizers)

Many Foreigners when they visit Jakarta, they go to Grand Indonesia Shoping Mall, or Plaza Indonesia (because the place is on the center of Jakarta, and also in Bunderan HI), and Pacific Place if they go to SCBD. But, the most favorite and one of the best mall in Jakarta (Jakarta Poeple most Favorite) is in the south of Jakarta, and is call Pondok Indah Mall, many Jakarta people go there, and Pondok Indah Mall is also number 1 best mall in Jakarta. (IMO) you should go there.. :)
