It's better to come home from tour with money than to live it up for 30 days of tour on a bus. The band is trying to rebuild a bit. I'm sure they'll be back in a bus in the future.

So everyone knows, this is your life if you choose to play metal. There isn't a ton of money in it anymore, especially in the US. If you wonder why, check out the local show scene. Tickets are normally $20 or less and that's for like 3-4 bands. Then you see that tickets for an imagine dragons concert are $200. I love metal, but people need to realize the money isn't there anymore, if it ever was. There's a reason these guys are living in a van on tour.

There can be, but to be honest I feel like a lot of passion has died out in the genre. Like i haven't heard many "metal" songs with much passion/meaning to it. I could be going crazy but I still believe in it

I get what you're saying, but don't necessarily agree. There are a lot of metal bands that do pretty well for themselves financially. Revenue streams are so diverse these days that when you combine album sales with streaming, show guarantees, merchandise, licensing, sync deals, etc., there are still opportunities to make money. I'm not talking about being ultra wealth, but you can make a good living and have a nest egg to retire with. There are 7 billion people on this planet with very different tastes in music. Just because an artist isn't mainstream, doesn't mean they aren't making decent money. Again, I do see what you're saying though. Just presenting the other side of the argument.

Yeah, after Frankie kept the band going after the other members were gone, they went back to the basics. I believe they tour in a bus again these days though.

Tour vehicles these days rarely have to do with the band's record label these days. When people actually bought albums, labels gave bands "tour support", which was essentially a part of the marketing budget from the label. Once album sales went away, so did tour support. Only bands getting tour support these days are super marketable bands on major labels.

I wonder if there’s a band out there, or in the past, that got innovative with a van, and ripped out the seats, and just made it like a solid mat in the back to lay down on, and like ground seat chairs to sit. I thought Emmure was a really successful band? So why are they in such a small vehicle? they can afford a bus right? Unless their record company or some shit isn't paying them money like shit they got hundreds of thousands of fans right? where's that money going into? Or does it cost a shit tone of money to record an album and that's where it's all going to? It's just odd that they would choose such an uncomfortable little van compared to a motor home or even an old bus or something with more room... weird oh well at least they are touring and still getting the job done

Buses are expensive. A full size tour bus typically costs a band 1000 to 1500 per day between the bus itself, plus gas and bus driver. I'm sure Emmure just wanted to come home with money at the end of this tour.
