I have been watching her sing for years. Watching videos of this young lady singing at Loretta’s concerts. I told my wife years ago, listen, watch this, it’s Loretta’s granddaughter. Waiting. Wishing she would get out there. I’m so glad she did it. So proud of her. What an amazing voice and writing ability. Loretta was proud of her then and she would be proud now. Emmy if you by chance read this: you are doing wonderful! Great voice, great songs.

I looked at my wife and asked, "who is that?". Emmy seemed far more confident. This was a glimpse into her future CMA performance after winning "best new artist". Amazing.

an original, Want You, so pretty, relatable, sincere lyrics & emotion. Her tone is way up in "the mask," very Country, and not unpleasant. Lovely changes going into head voice. Very pretty song.

Emmy Russell, a 25-year-old songwriter from Nashville, TN found on tweet @emmyRoseRussell was excited to perform an original song. "Want You" the song was about wanting someone who didn't want this girl back Ryan our host was touched, Katy like the song but wanted more breath and longer notes from her, it was Luke's favorite performance she had done. and Lionel called it a hit record and called incredible songwriter...Showing that Loretta Lynn and Kacey Musgrave were both two country darlings.....rounding the top 20 are....

@katiereed6537 Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. My opinion is she's isn't a great technical like Julia. She lacks power in the high range and is often flat on her notes. I know you think otherwise. Technical singing doesn't mean you're a great performer though. It is the ability to move your audience with your emotions that separate singers, actors, authors, etc. Emmy has that in abundance. Think, Johnny Cash was never a great vocalist, yet everyone knows he was a great performer.

The thing with this set of performances is s a mulligan audio mix that more sharp and has zero reverb on the mic which essentially making it harder to sing and to hold a note or enter notes everyone had these troubles of mix audio mics it’s making it more precise for the performers and tbh she had very little off notes like what one compared to others
