One advantage of the Bacon Bowl Maker though is you get to gather the bacon fat rendered from cooking neatly. You can use the bacon fat for tons of other stuff after! :)

You should have had the crunchy microwave bowl with the ice cream. Crunchy texture goes much better with ice cream. Rubbery, fatty texture, not so much.

That amazes me how much stuff you can get at your thrift store that looks brand new, still in original packaging. Do people buy (or receive as gifts) that much stuff that they never use?

Every holiday season at every silly party where they do a Yankee Swap/Dirty Santa/whatever it is called in your region. 8/10 I end up sending it off to Savers unused. Then buy other peoples unused things that I wanted!

To be honest, a lot of thrift stores accept donations from deceased elderly. So that's why you see so many As Seen On TV products.

I love the fact that you try all these gadgets that come out for the kitchen! I am not a gadget user. I love just using a knife, cutting board, microplane, mixer, citrus reamer... the normal kitchen stuff. It just proves to me that for the most part the normal kitchen stuff can get the job done! One of my favorite ways to eat bacon: Toast two pieces of bread, spread with peanut butter, top with lots of crispy bacon. You all have to try it.

fill one of those with creamy, mashed potatoes, sour cream and topped with finely sliced green onion. Yup. And I've made candied bacon to add to vanilla ice cream (and cookies). It is amazing.

I actually have some of these! We tried it one time and it actually came out perfect, though we used a smaller oven rather than the oven a stovetop has. (Like a toaster oven basically) so maybe that would help you make the perfect one with the bacon bowl? Would be worth a try. Anyway, wow, you make me wanna do that bacon sundae now because I tried that when Burger King sold them, they were over priced but SO GOOD i dont know why, bacon just goes with anything really, and the sweet and salty thing is my jam xD

I really need to make these being on the keto/carnivore diet I eat only animal foods and I consome a lot of bacon. I wrap steaks with bacon, but the bacon bowl would be great with ground grass fed beef and cheese on top. Or ground sausage with a poached egg on top with cheese. Yum the possibilities are endless. Yum yum yum.

You should try adding maple syrup to the bacon if you are using it with ice cream :) The smoke flavor and the rich flavor of the maple tie the two together well.

I think that if you took peanut butter and lined the inside of the bowl with it then place ice cream in it with the drizzle of chocolate that would be amazing!

You use a scrub brush!!! I started using them and love them, much better for preventing bacterial growth than sponges and cloths, but much more environmentally friendly than sponges

You need Maple bacon for this, brush the bacon with maple syrup before and while cooking!! Yumm

You can actually use any ceramic or Pyrex bowl to make these.. I've made all kinds of bacon bowls for different occassions.

I’m thinking B.A.L.T. Cups; make your bacon cups then add shredded lettuce, chopped avocado and tomato as a filling, drizzle with a little mayo and sprinkle with some tiny croutons (or leave off so it’s gluten and carb free). Yum! I’m loving my HelloFresh boxes, it’s rejuvenated my dinner times and is very convenient.

I use parchment paper or aluminum foil over the muffin tin to keep the bacon from sticking.

I may have to try the bacon bowl with a muffin tin so I can use that with my Mac and Cheese. As for the ice cream bowl. Where I live we have a shop that does a maple bacon donut. I think the flavour of a maple ice cream would have gone better with the bowl but that's just me.

If the microwave cooking time is reduced from the beging with a start time of 1 minute and cooked at 1 minute intervals I think the shrinkage can be kept to a minimum. But I think the muffin tin is the best tool. Sooo if you have a toaster oven it might be a good match.

One thing I think that people need to know about Hello Fresh is that the portions are quite large. We ordered the box for just 2 people, and were able to feed 3 adults and still have leftovers!
