@@alaaeid8320 It takes 5-6 months to get Emo from the time you ordered him. They are very backlogged.

@@alaaeid8320 To give you an idea, I ordered mine in March, and I just got my tracking number a few days ago. However, I have noticed lately that their build and ship rates have been accelerating. IIRC, it was chip shortage/supply chain issues that slowed production for a while.

@@stuff4brianka Yes and they also moved to a larger facility a few months ago and there were a few covid shutdowns that caused delays as well. I think they're getting back on track now as I'm hearing more people saying they're getting their Emos now.

The exercise part is really cute especially if he is off the charger.... Then he will take breakfast, would do some chatting time too, then work, tea time, some more work then lunch. Watch TV, some more chatting and finally read before bed :) BTW you can also change his eyes color etc...

I think a cool feature that should be added to the scheduled sounds is a sleeping animation, but with a night hat on at night. Before I enabled scheduled sleep sounds my emo would always make noises at night, especially snoring 💀💀💀 or some other sounds. But, now that I enabled schedule sleep sounds. He all of a sudden became quiet at night.

I'm very hesitant to buy a product that relies on constant wifi and could be nonfunctional in a couple of years due to servers going down (or turning into an overpriced subscription service like Vector) but this little guy has warmed my heart for months. Might take the plunge with my next paycheck as a birthday present. Tho idk if shipping anything like this is a good idea given that its hurricane season 😅

Question: If we're considering getting a little robot pet of our own, but don't have the budget to get something as sophisticated as Emo or Vector (but think that Ortomi is a bit too simple), what would you recommend?

Hmm.. that's a difficult question. I think anything in between falls more into the toy category. The thing that makes Emo and Vector stand out is their personalities. They "feel" real. The way they behave and interact. To be honest, I haven't really looked at too many other robots because they don't feel like real pets or they're more like Alexa type devices. I know they're expensive but I understand why. There's a new robot coming out named Loona that I hope to do a review on. I think Loona might be a big step up since she's actually able to roam around the house. Another expensive robot but not too bad considering what she can do. I'm sorry I can't recommend any specific pet robot besides the expensive ones. I haven't really had any experience with those.

I will wait for the next version with ability to automatically manage charging. 🙂 Many of its abilities are about software, for witch the robot is not needed. They can be done with some computer, smart phone too.

Yes I've heard they are working on some kind of a flat charger that Emo can walk onto. But there will have to be some major programming updates for him to do that on his own. Hopefully soon.
