Hi, so I was the Sombra/Mei on this team. Been watching you and playing the game casually since around mid season 1. Definitely didn't expect to see myself in one of these vids but since we're here I may as well give my 2 cents. I've been playing comp support around low plat high gold since season 4 and this was one of my very first placement games for dps. I went 5-2-1 and placed in gold 4 which I honestly think was a bit too high for where my skill sits mechanically. My win rates were around 60% in qp on the heros that I play but ranked quickly humbled me as I truly felt like I was the one dragging my team down in this game. While I'm aware that dmg and elims isn't everything when you can be bringing value for your team in many other ways, especially on Sombra, it's hard not to compare the scoreboard stats. Anywho, this was an amusing watch for me. Perhaps in the future I'll submit a vod of my own.

I just wanted to thank Emongg for viewing my replay. Not only that but also streaming on yt too as I can't always make twitch due to work filters on the pc. Also gone a give a few thoughts on what was going through my head in a few of these plays. I've alwasy been an agressive tank player on console making diamond in all 3 roles but PC is a whole new game for someone who has never played an fps on PC. Sometimes its frustrating knowing what should happen, but the team not doing it. I was aware the team was holding first quite far forawrd but if thats where the team plays, I have to follow to an extent. On the attack where I got frozen duing my ult, it wasn't a panick ult, I had made the decision that was what I was going to do but misjudged where the mei ult landed. If you want to see me panic then let me use a keyboard and mouse lol. Peel for your supports always where I can. Yes I was bodyblocking for the soldier in OT. Soldiers ult timing was not idea but I once saw a mercy bodyblock in OWL for a pharah, i think it was on hanamura or volskya so it we could have traded then that would have been the best outcome as i didnt think i was making it in that fight anyway. In OT where i went in with my ult and let my tank die, this is where i tilted slightly. They werent in VC like the dps and supports were and I was shotcalling. You can here me spam my ult voice line to try and get the tank to go aggro but they didnt so i thought, sod it, im going in. I called for a mei switch instead of sombra to try and brawl and stall more on the payload as i knew we would have to at some point and they did very well for a character they said they didnt play. I ended up with more damage 14k than both tanks and 3 or the 4 dps in the game and 26k healing. I though I lost the game (like Emongg pointed out) after the final fight but it turned out to be a draw at 5-5. I won the game afgter this goint 5 wins, 7 losses and this tie dropping me from gold 5 to silver 4. Thanks again for the review and keep up the good work. Jason.

I feel like if you’re trying to guess the rank with supports, it can be more difficult, at least based on my experience. I got mistaken for a plat player recently while playing my main, but I’m actually Silver 4 right now. I’ve put a lot of time into Moira, and I know a lot of her techs, but I also know that I am sometimes a victim of bad positioning or poor cooldown usage, or even just plain old lack of awareness. On top of that, there are some matches that I get where I feel like I can’t be as aggressive as I want to be, either because I can’t trust my other support, or I can’t trust my team to stay alive, and it’s more difficult for me to carry when I’m stressing about everything, even if I feel like I can make better, more aggressive plays and help my team more easily get the win. (I’m working on just being more aggressive and not being as much of a babysitter, lol) All that to say…I felt like I had to gain the skill of a low Gold player to get out of B5 this past year. Now, I feel like I have to play like a Masters player to get out of Silver. 😂 I’m hopeful that the comp rework will be more fair, so I can at least say I’m Silver 1. 😅 I’m not trying to say I deserve plat or whatever (I don’t think I do), but I am saying it’s incredibly frustrating to be told I play well, and yet be stuck in Silver. Edit: Also, I agree with Emongg about fade! Fade isn’t really a cooldown you hang on to, and using it a lot to move around or be proactive can actually be beneficial. When using fade more aggressively, you want to watch where you’re diving, who you’re diving, and you want to have your orb so you’re ready to use it for yourself. Also, knowing your escape routes are helpful! Sadly, my only real credentials atm are playtime on her (740hrs just in Overwatch 2), so make of that what you will! Edit 2: Yep, sadly, this is what a lot of my Silver games look like, except that my team isn’t nearly as coordinated.

This Moira really needs to stop fading into the enemy team, if you are going to fade aggressively then you need a plan to get out, not just "hope I don't die" Also, the ult travels through multiple enemies and allies, stop using it to 1v1 an enemy. You can literally use it to heal your team and kill the enemies at the same time, there is no reason not to be doing that.

It looks like the guy heals too much. Several situations where almost everyone was max, or near max, health and the popped a healing orb as well as hosing them down with mist.

I was playing Moira a lot 9n Friday in QP. I solo ulted on a Widowmaker. It had to be done.

so what rank was he before deranking? gold 5? that's basically silver. there is ZERO chance he deranked from gold 1/2 straight to silver 1 unless he lost 15 in a row . the silver prediction is 100% correct. even if they were gold 5 or something, they went exactly where they belong

Even without Emongg's input, I was seriously convinced this player was gold the entire time. They seemed very pragmatic on which orbs to use and positioning was mostly solid. Not heavily proactive, but the reactive plays still had some sense in them.

Any Moira who spams tons of healing and heal orbs is gonna be below plat. Everyone in those ranks thinks Moira should only be healing.

Controller is just going to handicap you on PC. You have to learn mouse and keyboard if you want to improve. I know Joystick exists but trust me, you are not him.
