It uses the actual character models to give an individual the abilities. That's why you see each hero on the team. I think the implementation would have to fundamentally change

There’s a custom mode called random abilities which has a similar feel. One ability forces you to play Rock Paper Scissors with the person in front of you, whoever loses dies

It's me again :) This one was more fun than the last, I'd say. Reaper without his normal abilities is much better than Ram without them, and that self heal was brutal. It became a horror game when you saw a Reaper zooming towards you at mach 5 lmao, glad I got to be a part of this!

I feel like this series would be so cool in a best of 3 format. Starts with 2.5 times the stats and every time the player wins they either get nerfed to 2 times or they reroll; opposite thing if they lose.

Lifesteal or a passive form of healing that doesn't relay on runing to healthpacks is the best way to do a randomizer boss battle.

maybe, since it takes four heroes to have the four abilities, there is a way to have four players and have the abilities interchanged between them. idk if that actually works but just throwing out the idea

Could you also add a "passive ability" to the wheel, like wall ride, doible jump, etc? It would be interesting to see Power Slide into Wall Ride on both a close range character and a long range character, playing a game of cat and mouse against each other.

The way the abilities work is already a massive workaround (Marblr is essentially playing 4 heroes at once), adding passives would overcomplicate things massively, not only by adding a 5th hero but also because you’d have to add custom code to get the passives to work properly. I don’t think it’s impossible, I just think it’s way too much work and will break what’s already there

This is what Overwatch 2 should have been, a create a hero section and you can learn the different abilities from the original hero roster. When they add new heros there can be story missions and then you can add more to your kit.

DOTA 2 has a game mode called Random Abilities Draft where every player is assigned a random hero and every single ability in the game is placed in a pool for players to choose from. Every player will take turns picking their 3 abilities and 1 ultimate and players can’t pick an ability or ultimate that’s already picked. Balance gets thrown out the window and you just have fun. Wanna make a hero with 4 passives? Do it and see how it plays out. Wanna make a hero that can solo perma stun someone? Fuck it, why not? It’s a lot of fun. Having a game mode like that in Arcade for Overwatch would actually be crazy.

tracer's blink is her second ability (shift) its just double bound to secondary fire (mouse 2)

the base hero decides a lot about the strength of the entire thing. Reaper just has most of his power in his primary fire + passive. possibly the best or at least among the best for this mode. brig gonna hit heavy, also JQ and Mercy. Doom might be interesting depending on the abilities he gets. All supports likely are strong, because of the slow passive heals out of fights. Widow and Hanzo with the right abilities could be the ultimate oneshots.

I think the randomizer makes it fair for the top 500 because now marble moves the payload if 4 people where on it

I think the enemy team should be the one to decide nerf/reroll and the top500 should be the one to decide buff/reroll. Reason being is that the enemy team would have the perspective of what is more devastating; the stats or the abilities. As the top500, if you’ve got good abilities you say nerf, if you’ve got bad abilities you say reroll, so for the enemy team it’s less of a chance for it to be easier?
