From season 2 onwards I feel that Johnny and Robby's relationship is the most complex father-son relationship I've seen in a show

U guys may not like hawk that much but I just love his character , been bullied his whole life and now has the ability to become the bully , Ik the way they fight is a problem sometimes as aggression is easily countered but yeh - I think a reason most viewers route for cobra Kai this time and not before it mainly we see how the kids were nothing and bullied a lot before this and now are capable of defending themselves but before they were just the bully’s and we never saw their backstory whether they were nice before kreese

The final scene was when you knew that the show was only going to get better and better!

Miguel is my favourite, so this episode makes me sad a bit. Haha! It doesn't take long for him to redeem himself.

Miguel in that one play did exactly what hawk did. Thats what they were saying by “fighting dirty” going for the weakness is okay! Cheating and attacking them when there offguard and they aren’t supposed to fight is scummy.

Banger season finale. The part with Bert seeing Johnny drunk is still one of my favorite scenes 4 seasons later. After this season two I feel is like the Rush Hour 3 of the Cobra Kai franchise still really really good but when there are amazing seasons like 1, 3, 4 and 5 it pales in comparison

2 of my favorite scenes in KK/CK take place in this episode. When Miguel tells Johnny no mercy and when Johnny is silently reflecting while everyone is celebrating. Obviously the first scene is a parallel to Kreese telling Johnny to “sweep the leg” with Johnny in shock both times but in that moment he realizes through his negligence and anger he has not only recreated the worst moment of his life but poisoned another generation of students just like him. And then that second scene he just sits there quietly while his dream has been accomplished but at the cost of all his students including his pseudo-son being corrupted and his biological son getting hurt. The very quiet audio during a moment that would be very loud in the arena perfectly incapsulates how Johnny feels in that moment, it should be the greatest moment in his life but it’s hollow. Man this show is absolutely fantastic, one of my favorites ever and I can’t wait to see you enjoy seasons 2-5 and eventually 6.

He DID fight dirty on the 2 contacts after the engagement was stopped by referee which caused injury. Even in Rocky, punches thrown after the bell, points can be deducted for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Miguel yanking his hand was dirty, you should always attack the weak site especially since you're actually at a disadvantage if he takes that side stance and you just aim for the window he makes. If you're too injured to go on you surrender, it's not your opponents responsibility to surrender for your safety

Everyone thought John Kreese was dead until he showed up again this episode. Kreese faked his death before (you have to watch the KK sequels).

I do agree with your assessment of the shoulder injury. It was a dirty move to pull his arm when it was offered in peace. To kick it during the fight is just advantageous and it was obvious what his intentions would be during the fight not when offering a hand.

Just a comment about the rules: If you get hit on the shoulder, that is not a point. But anywhere else above the waist, if you get a clean hit, that is considered a point. But there are instances of gray areas where it's not so clear if a hit is a point or not. The show is kind of ambiguous on the rules.
