There's actually a widespread misundestanding in Egyptian Arabic that 'nervous' means angry or becoming upset. The actual widespread English use of nervous is 'uneasy' or 'afraid' as if you were going to make a speech to a lot of people. Example: "John are you ready to speak to the people" --------- "No I've never done this before and am nervous".

True Because the word is used in the Egyptian Arabic for being angry , tense or mad at something, it is "Arabized" meaning that they make verbs and adjectives from it. For ex. Sebny delwa2ty ana metnravez awi سيبني دلوقتي أنا متنرفز قوي Also Baba etnarvez lamma olteloh inn el telephone daa3 بابا اتنرفز لما قلتله ان التليفون ضاع And so on So that makes the ppl who start learning English use it with the same meaning they use it in Egyptian Arabic Hope that helps
