My Dad built this Emperor clock 300m from a kit in 1975. I inherited it. Just started it up today.

I built one of these kit clocks around 78. Mine was walnut , put together, stained and finished the cabinet! My first major wood project, turned out great. I was in my early 20s. Mine had the moon dial , it kept perfect time!!! You can still get these clocks from Emperor They are located in Virginia now.

This one keeps great time, after I found out the person that built it, cut the pendulum rod a little too short.... I was able to extend the length on it and that's all it took to be a nice time piece...

@jackoshaw I also built a manel clock which is the same clock as the grandfather clock without the bottom. It was for my daughters 1st birthday, she will be 44 this. Clock is still running perfectly!!!!

I have one of these 300M Emperor clocks with a Jauch movement. Does anyone know if its safe to leave the 2 chime weights on each side unwound sitting on the floor of the clock, and only wind the center weight? That way it will run without chiming. There is a lever on the right side to turn off the melody, but I see no lever to silence the hour strike. This seems to be a solution, but not sure if that will damage the mechanism running it this way?

I have this also, where can I see its date of manufacture , on what part of the movement is it ? Thanks in advance.

Should be on the movement. Take the back off the clock and have a look..

Hey jack, my grandmother has that grandfather clock but one of the weights fell off, or it got pulled off I don’t remember, do you know how or if the weights go back on? If not that’s okay, thank you!
@jackoshaw6 ай бұрын
There should be a hook on the chain for the weight....

@@jackoshaw thank you, I’m sorry, I don’t know anything about this at all, my Grandmother said when I visited recently that it got pulled up too far and stuck in the top, thank you for answering my weird questions.

@@IzzyCat923 If the weights are up too far and stuck at the top, you can take the weights apart by unscrewing the rod that goes through them... I must warn you, They are very heavy when they come apart and there also may be some bearings inside, somewhere.... Not to discourage you, THey are really easy, to reassemble, once you get all the parts unhooked..

Hi jack, how did you fix the weights and the chains being too high up? I just bought this exact clock and it has the same problem. The center weight is so high I can even remove it.

There is a rod that goes through the center of the weights, with a nut on one end.... If you are careful, you can unscrew the weights.... Make sure to hang on to the weights when they come apart. They are heavy.....Once you get them apart. You can take the hook off the chain and re assemble the weight... Hope that helps..
