Exactly right. They always screw up the plots so much that it bears nothing to the original story. I had just finished reading Altered Carbon when Netflix came out with their terrible version. They threw away about 70% of the actual story plot. Maybe with all the development of A.I. based arts, we can ask it to make a movie consistent with the real story someday.

He didn't clone his 3 selves (He's not the holy trinity) he cloned his ONE self, and 3 clones exist at any one time. EDIT: I neglected to take into account that this is likely an A.I. generated channel and that the script is A.I. generated.

ok riddle me this - they are in a SUB-light speed ship and are travelling to a planet that is 50 thousand LIGHT years away - how are they able to reach it in 800 days? In fact how could they reach it in less than 50 thousand light years at all?

they were on a jump ship but need time to prepare for the environment...they traveled sub light speed until they were somewhat prepared and then jumped... why it was said it is not a jump ship is because of AppleTV not trying their best

I have read every Foundation Book ever written, but it has been a few decades. Is it just me or is this Series completely different from anything ever written or conceived? It feels like Disney's fingerprints are all over it.

Yes, the series does not reflect the books at all. It does appear that has been wokenfied, and unfortunately, the series does not hold up to the books. I don't know why corporate entities insist on destroying good works.

yep, it has the parts in it, just not in the original or even a remotely sensible order and way, plus all the current bs that must be in this kind of shit in the current era. we are clearly in an era when writing stories no longer done by actually writing stories, just recompiling the old ones in 'new' light. oh, wait, this was one of the story point of the original on how you can clearly see that the empire is decaying and will turn into a barbaric dark age...

If you've read the books, you'll note where the series diverges, but all in all, it's still a pretty enjoyable watch. With as vast and encompassing as the Foundation book series is, no TV adaptation is ever going to do it justice. It'd be the same with bringing the "Rama" books to TV or film.
