Through paintings, ceramics and jades, you’ll discover nine rulers who shaped the evolution of art in China. These masterpieces will be on display in the exhibition Emperors’ Treasures: Chinese art from the National Palace Museum, Taipei, on view from June 17 through September 18, 2016 at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. These cultural relics were fortunate to escape the ordeal of destruction had they remained in China during Cultural Revolution

Very charming and inspiring ... pity the new educational regulations seem to go into the direction to consider Chinese history as “foreign” culture ... at the same level as European or American ( well very young history ) history .... feel sad ...

Not Chinese. But Taiwan actually saved these treasures from the destructive nature of the Cultural Revolution. Lets be grateful to ROC for saving these hundreds of thousands of treasures that at one time may have been all lost in recent history. These aren't ordinary artifacts but Emperors treasures!

@@angelobandal7112 Still Taiwan calls itself Republic of China. They still use traditional writing system. The U.S. and most countries in the U.N. don't consider Taiwan a country.
