Over the last couple of years, @thenotorious_a_r_t has been rebuilding his 2004 Forester XT into his dream RWD wagon. Featuring an engine bay FULL of GrimmSpeed parts and tons of custom work done on the body and interior, check out this in-depth walkaround showcasing every part of the build up to this point.

I had an 04 FXT that I had for a few years and had made mostly STI underneath too. Outside looked mostly stock though, so it was a fun sleeper and a great daily. This project makes me miss it. Sold it to buy my STI though :) It is now owned by one of my friends so I still get to see it once in a while.

Sleeper FXT is the GOAT, glad you stayed in the Subaru family with your STI though. Who knows, maybe you'll get that Forester back someday!

I’m planning at some point in the future to go DCCD but I want to stay as OEM as possible. I’m planning to swap 08+ STI armrest/shifter trim into my 04 Forester XT…🤞🏻

wow such amazing progress and finally able to see a video which i wish was longer. Love the forester community and you big some light with a big statement. Would of loved to see a cinematic mode of the trip. and also want to see the under carriage

Im following along!! It’s a different build to what I aspire to but I massively respect what you have done and wish i had a company like Grimmspeed behind me.. My forester SG9 is in the UK currently. Due to import laws to the US, will be for a while.. I can’t wait for some of the forester meets over the pond

Love the build. Ive been wanting a 1st gen to convert into an Sti but thats alot of work. XT would be an easier starting point.

Thank you!! There is something really cool about a turbo-swapped SF since we didn't get them stateside, but an XT would make for an easier project. My suggestion: start with the XT, then move onto the SF.

I've got an '04 Forrester X slammed, it's slow as dirt but I love it. Can you pretty please tell me where you picked up your bumper and grill? I know the price is going to make me cry but I think I need it. Your build turned out fantastic!

Love the build! Im looking at tinting my windows and you seam to have the right level of tint. Do you remember what % tint it was please?

This is the first video that I watched on your channel. If the car didn't look good, I'd probably never watch you again. Also, because I own an '04. I'll respect your disclaimer on comments... Please do less talking and show the car off more. We don't all geek out. Some of us just appreciate the work and want to hear and see the car. The tree S's - Style, Speed and Sound. A five minute video is sometimes more impactful.

It depends on what kind of EJ20. The wiring is going to be the complicated part there. Give us a call, we may be able to drop some knowledge, but the forums are probably going to be your best bet for finding reliable information on that topic.
