Joe, unfortunately the younger people are getting these jobs expecting to be paid for minimal work. Even some of the ones nearing retirement don't do much. An excellent example of this happened to me as I was a travel nurse. I was down at the end of the hall caring for one of my patients. Suddenly, loud snoring could be heard. The patient's son told me that when this nurse works it was common with many complaints. I walked up the hall to the nurses station and she was snoring with her head on the desk! I spoke with the nursing supervisor as she didn't answer call lights, nor take care of her own patients. Long story short, I complained to many higher ups and received the same response: she's close to retirement! What!?!?!?! When my contract was over, I couldn't wait to get away from that place! Sad about her patients not getting the care and respect they deserve!
