Her firing was actually the company doing mass layoffs, and then pretending it was performance related. Question for you is why would they lie and present it as something different than layoffs!?

Maybe the company didn't want them to apply for unemployment insurance? Because when it happens company's unemployment insurance skyrockets, so firing for low performance might relieve them from that risk. It's apparently unethical, but is is legal? That would I would really appreciate to hear from a lawyer. 😊

She's working in California, and there are rules in California that you have to give extra benefits to employees that you lay off as part of a mass lay off.

she worked at my place last year and could not close a single sale. she was fired. if you can not close you get fired. sales people are hired to sell. "put that coffee down ... coffee is for closers".

You may get paid more per view than a lot of creamy as your channel would be classified as law/business. They pay creators differently based on their classification (based on how much advertisers will pay to advertise on those channels).

I was told I was terminated for violating a policy. I just reviewed an investigation report and it says that I was unavailable during this time period.. what they intentionally failed to document was that I was in intensive outpatient treatment. I had been asking for FMLA for a year and a half and reasonable accommodations and they just refused to process and verbally denied. Get everything in writing and get ahold of all of their documents and make sure you read it. I missed it the first time around.

I think the thing that makes people react to that video is how impersonal everything was. They did a mass layoff and they just lied to her about why they were firing her. Honestly, I love your channel and your videos but I don't see how this take fits your channel mission. It makes you look out of touch with the struggles that workers have when large companies treat them like an entry in a spreadsheet.

I hear you, but telling folks what they want to hear does not actually help them. She engaged in a career damaging social media stunt tied to no real infraction of the law. Do I wish she was treated better? Of course. But my job is to tell folks, "Hey, this course of action did not make sense and was an act of self harm and there is why I see it that way." Employees need to understand the rules of the game if they are going to play against their employer.

Oh boy. You’ve missed the whole point. They fired a whole bunch of people, and it clearly had nothing to do with performance. You also don’t know the difference between sexism and ageism.

My question is, was this wronful termination because they kept saying "she wasn't performing well enough" but her manager kept saying she was doing well AND manager wasn't even present to explain. HR in every corporate is a fking joke

Unfortunately no. Wrongful termination in most jurisdictions would generally require some form of workplace discrimination, sexual harassment or retaliation. We have some videos on the channel defining wrongful termination.

Great point about the manager being a cheerleader. But we don’t even know if she is omitting cases where she was called out. People can be delusional and omit what they don’t believe fits them.

the one problem i have is that in winter time; most tech companies dont change their infrastructure, meaning that no one in her department was making sales. and they knew that

To fully understand Brittany's training, the job, and firing, I suggest Vince and everyone watch Andrew Tavani's KZfaq interview with her posted 4 months ago called, "Getting Caught Up /Brittany Pietsch episode." My hope is that you (Vince) and all will see that many of your comments Vince were off base. At least research before using your platform to slam someone online. While I would never post online like she did, as someone with many successful years in sales and high-tech sales, I fully understand her perspective about the whole experience. I wish Brittany success in finding the right job for her.

I agree her manager sold her short, should have said, get a client, but it was really about downsizing and they wanted to say performance issues which may have been a lie. Layoff/firing generates a lot of cringe, but they should have been more honest. They were absolutely lying. If it was for poor performance, they would have given her specific reasons. Other large companies do, in fact some have computer systems that track how many packages they produce on a day, what speed they work at, what hours they work and how many breaks they take and how long. When she asked they fell flat on their face.

I can never understand sales industry logic. Company to sales staff: your job performance is rated completely based on the actions of other people, whether they decide to buy or not. Makes no sense. You can work you butt off and do all the right things and still make no sales if the other people simply don't want to buy.

Your take is somewhat interesting. What I saw was she was upset and she stood up for herself, regardless if you thought she had a leg to stand on, she had the right to not just roll over. The HR staff was telling her she was a loser and she wasn't going to take it. She was not rude or offensive, she did not burst into tears, she mearly asked some pointed questions and I cheer her for that. The HR people could have handled that situation much better in my opinion. The platitudes and gaslighting were not helpful. On another note, what kind of company has to keep a staff of people that do nothing but fire/layoff employees? That sounds like a company people should give a wide bearth to when contemplating a position with them. Also, wtf? What is tiky-toky? You seem to assume this video was loaded purely for revenue or to get famous? That she should have chosen a different platform so that she could make better coin? Yeesh. Not everything in life boils down to $ Did she do it to make herself feel better and to show how cold employers can be to employees? Probably. She wasn't wrong. Will she regret it? I hope not. I like her spunk and hope she goes into a field that appreciates her more than Sales.
