3:10 That simple move you make at the end when you're done with the student... In way too many Silat schools I see students learn those moves, dry, no opponent, just like you did right there. We never learn the meaning of the movement, and how to use it in a fight. Same in the school where I started. Learning beladiri's by heart, but all that time they were just meaningless dance moves, mandatory rituals without any relation to fighting. We need more teachers like YOU, Maul. Thank you.

Thats because Silat purpose is not to any find opponent. Silat is a defends system to use when you in danger. Doesnt mean all martial arts need to be in UFC to approved its effectiveness. Arts have its own value and peasant just dont have the knowledge yet to value it

Real Silat is secretive, it was art of assasination, trust me, I'm born into silat family, the one that were shown publicly was never the real silat, not even the silat competition (to me this is a bad joke). Not even movies shows the real moves. In real silat, each move were to design kill or snap bones and tendon. Or to make you blind or deaf in one move. How can this be taught publicly without teacher revealing to you in person? How can this be a sport? The real power is in secrecy. We become humble when we learn about silat (real one), because we know that death can come so easily.

The most practical technique he showed for empty hand was the sliding leverage, ala wing chun, JKD or some kali arts as well. Everything else for empty hands is a bit inefficient. I can see the weapon application as you must "defang the snake," or deal with the weapon which can kill you. Fro empty hands stick to the boxing, muythai, jkd approach. For weapons you have to deal with the limb I get it.

you still need to train. nothing is free in combat. training one thing does not answer all, but you can develop your response to attacks if you take your effort and time into it. rest is physics.

Dear Master, the more I am watching your oresentationm, the more I am becoming fan of your style, with two exceptions: 1. I miss rearward defence, which is a must , p artiucularly against savage attackers. 2. Having studied Kung Fu and Japanese Karate, I leasned, In defence body moves first, and in attack ôlegs mkve first. Your presentations are often deniying it. Are those masters wrong, or there is a detail, I have missed. Paul, 67, retired instriuctor of Karate.

Yo sup Suffian Bela Diri Silat homie would love for you to get in contact with Rokas Leonavicius of KZfaq channel Martial Arts Journey. Well he is organizing a challenge to 5 KZfaq self defense and mma fighters to participate with him to go down to I think Western combatives in Sydney Australia where founder and creator Jeff Phillips resides. And the competing participants are well known on KZfaq they are of course Rokas next is Icy Mike followed by ex MMA Kickboxer Ramsey Dewey then a current MMA Muay Thai and Jiujitsu fighter Jeff Chan now finally Sensei Seth Adams. Also trying to get two other youtube martial defense instructors which are Sifu Adam Chan Wing Chun and Sifu Dominique Izzo Wing Chun two very different contrasting Wing Chun concepts homie. But for me Suffian Maul Mornie I think Silat is a more practical self defense if it was pressure tested in a western combatives training facilities well you are engaging in very tight small spaces such as practical Office spaces, in a bar night club I know your are Muslim☪️wid humble Warrior Born respects Suffian it is a training self defense scenario homie. Well everything is safety padded tables chairs, small hall ways, train and passenger bus seats where most of the tactical pressurized self defense situations occurs yup and of course you are marked out of a hundred on what you've got right and which ones you haven't yo. It's a awesome experience Suffian you'll learn new things cause every scenario is not the same just take this defensive scene you've come across a robber in small alley way he us assaulting a woman trying to rob her you intervene they woman runs away leaving just you and the assailant then a innocent passer by observer sees you two. But then the assailant says help me and says you are assaulting him you are trying to explain yourself about the woman but the witness is not there to prove your innocence all the passer by observer sees is you assaulting the original assaulter yup all the best Suffian train well peace🕊✌🎓⛑homie💙💯🥊🥋🦁🪖✊😎.
