"Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace" is a Chinese historical drama television series that originally aired in 2018. The show is also known as "如懿传" (Rú Yì Zhuàn) in Chinese.
The drama is set during the Qing Dynasty and tells the story of the Qianlong Emperor's beloved consort, Ulanara Ruyi (played by Zhou Xun). Ruyi enters the Forbidden City and becomes one of the emperor's consorts, but she faces intense palace intrigue, jealousy, and power struggles among the imperial concubines. The series explores the challenges and trials she faces as she navigates the treacherous world of the imperial harem.
The drama gained popularity not only in China but also internationally, with viewers drawn to its rich depiction of the Qing Dynasty court and the complex relationships between the characters. If you enjoy historical dramas with elements of romance, intrigue, and palace politics, "Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace" is worth checking out.

As an embroiderer myself, I really enjoyed watching the meticulous preparations and the hand making of Ruyi's headdress : absolutely beautiful. I wish to congratulate the skilfull artist who could reproduce the headwear worn by Ruyi in the series, it must have been a work of love and patience as it seems so intricate, but the result is definitely worth it.

Woww this is just a replica and already took so much time and effort to make. Imagine how long it took for Qing's artists to make the real one. Really gives us a sense of how luxurious life was for Qing concubines.

I hope that someday someone adds in English translations. I loved the series and would have loved to have been able to understand what the narrator/commentator is saying. *EDIT* Yes, there are English subtitles in 2021!

And I love the history and Hanfu costumes back in the Tang, Song, and Ming Dynasty, which are considered as the most prosperous time, both literarily and geographically. And all the beautiful words of poems come from Tang and Song Dynasty. There are various Hanfu styles from different dynasties like Tang, Song and Ming Dynasty.❤️

Thank You!! This is a magnificent piece of handwork, a wonderful example of needle craft & bead work that shows what an artist you are! You said it took you 20 nights , I suggest that was about 80 to 160 hours of work & that's dedication to the craft!, I have made complicated pieces of handwork as well & I know something of the focus & dedication it takes to accomplish such detailed work. I can't applaud your efforts enough, the results speak for you, thank you again for sharing this delightful creation with all of us!

Very simple but elegant headdress. Ruyi doesn't wear too much pompous stuff on her clothes and accessories unlike Noble consort Gao, Concubine Mei, Shen (Aruo) or Imperial Noble consort Ling. These consorts and concubines always wear too much pompous clothes and accessories.
