Modern breaking systems prevent many accidents. ABS and ESP have already safed many thousands of lives. To slow the car down, a break booster is used. Conventional systems use a vacuum to boost the drive force of the driver. This vacuum is supplied by the combustion engine. Vehicles with an electric engine do not have this any more. That's why Bosch invented the so-called iBooster, a system which is independent of vacuum. It increases the break force of electric engines.
