Why sentence someone to 90 years then let him use our tax to pay for his studies when you cant pay for the victims kids who are suffering because of him

He's smiling because he is on camera. He's not proud of what he did in any way. He got his diploma to help pay back his debt to society by educating and reforming gangsters. You need to also understand a bit more about the culture because at the end of the day, he IS a proud black man, not a proud criminal.

You can tell that he was an intelligent man of great conviction & consequence, who, could've had a different outcome & achieved great success had he chosen a different path. I don't know the series of unfortunate events & life circumstances that led to him choosing to become a criminal but what I do know is, it's not my place to judge him for it, I leave that to God. It's a lot easier han you think. AK's are cheap but old and prone to misfires. The Galil's are THE sought after assault rifles in CiTs. Nato ammo is also easier to obtain than the old USSR calibres (the latter are mostly old rounds too, useless in a firefight.) The robbers are smart. Never ever underestimate a criminal. The guts it takes to step out of your house in the morning to go to work, ie a CiT robbery with the knowledge that you might not see sundown is beyong comprehension. Most of the guys are supporting a large family and I'll bet good money that given better employment and social opportunities, 90% or more crims wouldn't even contemplate breaking the law. Hunger makes for a desperate situation with very few choices.

The problem I find with any corrections systems is that he went to jail and got a diploma in education...while those who lost loved ones have nyaope addictions cos they couldnt deal with those deaths...if you are connected and you survive in jail...you come out better off than the victim. There needs to be some sort of balance. Sentencing is not the only gift justice can give is it?

It is. No amount of punishment can bring the deceased back or even console deceased’s survivors. Everyone has a choice, this man chose to study in prison, not all prisoners choose that path. So even the deceased’s survivors also have a choice, if they decide to do nyaope instead of going to therapy that’s the choice they made for themselves.

Is there a hope for those who were killed in those robberies? Are they gonna get any parole on their deaths? Certainly not. Many people are fatherless and motherless because their parents were killed in robberies and hijackings. Parole system should work proportional in the way that once a person is released, such person must compensate the family of the deceased. Forgiveness brings nothing but pain.

I hope hes not doing this good with hopes to get out - its great that hes educated cause now he can focus on educating the criminals who are like him but, please dont let him out ever, yes hes remorseful but the punishment fits the crime so he should rather see hes current life as hes purpose and it will be all good.

In fact he can be very lucky to have his live spared. The right thing to do with all murderers are execution. I know allot will say I have no feelings and how can I say that. We are quick to judge but slow to correct ourselves in the end its a matter of perspective. There is no single path through life that's right or fair and does not harm, all of us we are on the same boat no matter hw self righteous or gud we are there is smthng there that hlp 2 tell we are all sinners we need the Saviour which is Jesus Christ.

People as a person you have to forgive whatever this man has done you can hear he is regretting himself but fortunately he didn't lose hope he is doing all the best to make himself a person amongst people I appreciate he didn't make it in crime hopefully he will succeed in education this man is a leader to the lost youth and what I like about him he is smart. I pray God to be with him all the time he will only face justice on heaven let the man work and not be kept.
