I love hearing more natural Japanese voices and this is probably the first time I've heard one that's deeper for a woman EDIT: i made this comment a year ago and didn't realize how janky this comment is -- wanted to clarify i feel that when i saw this the voices didn't sound overtly "anime" or exaggerated like i'm used to hearing. but something you'd hear in conversational Japanese as well as the pitch of the voice. and also please read the part "this is probably the first time I'VE heard one" -- this is solely my experience, and not trying to generalize everyone else's. it truly was just a cool observation i made in hindsight.

I find it interesting that Luisa uses "watashi" in the song and otherwise she uses "atashi", it feels a little bit as if she's more serious when she's talking about her feelings, while she's trying to put on a more "there are no worries" facade otherwise.

I love how natural she sounds compared to othe versions. The spanish VA in particular, even though she's a good actress and singer AND she's speaking the native language of the character, she really forced her voice to the point where it felt almost mocking. I'm not trashing on the spanish version, I'm a native spanish speaker, this is just my opinion.

When I first saw this movie I was startled by the title because Encanto means mythical creatures in my country lol (Include the scary myths and stuffs I thought the movie is inspired by my country since we also got colonized by Spain.)
