Encaustic Brushes and How to Clean Them

For encaustic work, it’s important you only use natural-bristle brushes because synthetic bristles may melt when subjected to heat. In this video, I’m going to show you a couple options for encaustic brushes, as well as how to clean them and how to deal with bristles that get embedded in your work.

I started my journet in encaustic when I began making custom crayons for my classrooms from there I discovered there was a whole medium dedicated to wax painting. Your channel has been a godsend in an introduction to what I may need so thank you so much ^_^

Thank you. I didn’t know it was safe to put wax directly onto the griddle. I’m new to encaustic work.

Yes, it's ok to put wax directly on the griddle. Just make sure your griddle is at the right temperature, not too hot.
