Enjoy the fact that you can see the church tower as you enter town. As an American, I am always amazed at the age of some buildings in England. Read that the beautiful church of St. George in Hampnett dates back to 1125... What a sight! There are beautiful houses there. Oh my God, that house on the left after going through that gate is amazing! And a water source with pleasant sounds (I always turn up the volume when watching your walks to fully enjoy the sounds of birds and water). Kevin, you did an outstanding job in capturing the beauty of these villages, man... thank you for taking us along!

There are still thousands of ancient church’s still in use today in the UK. The one I was married in, All Saints in the ancient village of Ledsham, West Yorkshire, dates from around 730 AD, making it one of the oldest standing Anglo-Saxon buildings still in use. Although through time, things have been added to or altered, mainly in the 13-15th centuries, it still has much of the original building. When I got married there, you thought to yourself, “if only these stones could talk, the tales they could tell of all those people who have come into this building for weddings and funerals for well over a thousand years”.

Love that you can see the church tower as you enter the town. Being from the States it always just blows my mind at the age of some of the buildings in England. Just read that that beautiful church St. George in Hampnett goes back to 1125...Wow! There are some beautiful houses there. Oh Lord, that house on the left after entering through that gated path was gorgeous! And a beautifully sounding spring (I always turn up the sound on your walks to fully enjoy the birds & water ways 😊) Kevin, you do an excellent job of capturing the beauty of these villages my friend... thanks for taking us along!

👍 Thank you for starting , as a rule , with the church . It's not always possible to find the right words , but there's something about it that . worries . At 22.20 min there was something here, the foundation, the remains... a stone wall with a drain ..., the time of the Romans is mentioned... before.

Das ist enorm, daß dort noch Bauten stehen die so viele Jahre auf dem Puckel haben. Ich glaube das die heutigen Bauten nicht mal 100 Jahre überstehen. Was für ein Rückschritt. 😮

In another video I noted there were place names in the Doomsday Book for my surname and mother's maiden name. Just checked and lo and behold my christian name is there as well. And it'ts still there today. Lo'oks like I couldn't deny my British heritage even if I wantrd to. Which I don't. Happy and proud to claim it.

Easy..cos these villages are not over run with millions of immigrants, so are preserved by countless generations of the same people…unlike our cities that have become dirty, unsafe ad run down in many parts due to immigration, people who come with their third world mentality and hygiene and the places they end up in, they turn it into a dump.
